Just wanted to drop a note that I found this video really helpful, I have this exact model of washer and was having trouble with it getting off balance and not spinning water out on large items like bed sheets and table cloths. I followed your advice and loaded the basket up with a lot of items and it seemed to work correctly after that. I think the key to these higher capacity top loaders is you need to load the basket down with a lot of items before it’ll run right. Seems like smaller loads don’t work very well.

How do you open the lid? Once my machine starts the lid locks automatically and I don’t know how to unlock it.

How do you get it to start while the lid is open? I am loving it the past 3 weeks but I prefer to add my detergent as it fills and have no small kids to worry about ...

It looks like the locking mechanism in the cover was removed. I think you have to insert a small magnet into where the locking mechanism where the cover fits into the washer body. I'm guessing, but I think that is what he did.

Just had my MVW4505 installed today. First load was brand new Queen sheets and pillowcases. Wanted to wash them before first use. So one fitted sheet, one top sheet, four pillowcases. Nothing else. Set it at Warm, Whites and Auto. After three hours I had to stop it myself. Powered off the machine and started again using Quick Wash. Took 54 minutes. WTF?

I noticed thast on the max fill extra rinse the the wash water drains but isn't spun out! Then it starts to fill for the first rinse! How is that efficient??🤨🤔

You like water for your clothes, then don't buy this machine. You get a puddle for small delicate items and not enough water to submerge a full wash of colored clothes. What bothers me most is this was listed where I bought it as a traditional washer, not a HE. Well it smells like a HE and performs like a HE. If your clothes are really dirty and stinky when you put them in, they will still be dirty and stinky when this washer is done

This machine is horrible, even worse than the 565. 2 years and this design is already known to have a bad control board. Whirlpool quality gone downhill. At this point I was Maytga just kept the 565
