My take is when Dot wrote Let The Party Die, he had to speak his own truth/express his thoughts, hence not actually privately hitting up Dee-1 and Lecrae first. But he legitimately is interested in their thoughts, and also signal boosted two much lesser known (Christian) rappers in the process. Also, he expressed that he wishes he could be more like them in some ways, but is not there yet. Lecrae responds, and takes the angle that the Party doesn't have to die; that there is another route to salvation of it all. Dee-1 responds, and "my heart like Dee-1/ But I will - **flat line**" when you said you would have liked to have heard Dee-1 fill in the blank and go in, the thing that I think is really dope, is that is exactly what he did. Lecrae took the untitled instagram air force route, except he reversed the colour, the solution approach, and the beat. Dee-1 took Kendrick's artistic choice of speaking words without saying words, and flipped it. He did fill in the blank: Dee-1 said: I will kill the party with you, by turning a censor mute into a flatline.

For decades 'christian music/gospel music' has always been a devotion to God. Now you have Dee=1 who has always professed to be a man of God first and then christian. He fell into the label of christian rapper, but if you listen to his music from his beginnings until now, he is an inspirational rapper more than christian rapper. In the days of KRS-1, Public Enemy and the like, they were inspirational rappers but, only the label of rappers within Hip Hop was needed Once again the perils of allowing those that haven't lived the culture to label the culture (Industry Execs) Just my perspective. Side note: It wasn't mentioned in the video, but for anyone that missed it, in the song Dee-1 saying "We flippin tables" is a bible reference to when Christ flipped the table of merchants buying/selling in the temple courts. Matthew 21: 12-13 😃

Dee1 is confirming he's in with Kendrick on killing the party. LaCrae is saying he sympathizes but isn't up to judge, he 'll rather pray for the enemy, taking the nonviolent "route". Kendrick directly asked what LaCrae would do and got his answer, with s motivation why he keeps the white shoes on, dee1 put on his blacks and will show up to the battle, telling it like it is to the industry.

lol Let The Party Die is 5:04 runtime. 504 is one of the 5 state area codes - greater new orleans (the other 4 are way shorter, or way longer if converted into a song). It could DEFINITELY be a coincidence easily. But it wouldn't surprise me either, if Dot added it as a little touch to reference the Super Bowl. I also won't be surprised if Dot brings Wayne out. I think part of why Drake posted so much Wayne stuff is because he is afraid of that happening, and wants to try to show loyalty.

It's a Kendrick Lamar co-signment. He agrees. He is just giving his perspective. That's what Kendrick was asking for. Also, Hip Hop is very damaging to our people. Hip Hop artists and songs are the most visible around the world. White people quoting and singing black songs like they know our life. Why are these messages and videos that our artists put forth taken as a representation of black people?

It amazes me how shocked people are with gospel rap. You would think they would love the evolution of rap! Seeing how it started out as an advocacy about what was going on in inner city lives. then it became you know rivalry and about who has the ingest bank. Let's not forget rap love songs! Now we're here with the gospel. Come on, people get with the times! Rap music is about expression, so why limit people expressing what they feel, whether it's gangster or gospel.

Your reaction to the act stupid/gangsta, and then clock in for the white man on your best behaviour: I think that line goes hard, and I feel your reaction. Also, Drake DEFINITELY code switches. I will add though, I think it's an interesting subject. Like: If I am with my 4 year old nephew, I act different than when I am with my woman. Sometimes I may be with a boss I can chill with like a homie, sometimes not. One of my homies called out some of his friends one time for not knowing how to 'talk to white people', like, if you're at a job interview, you don't talk like you do with some of your people. I think the crux of what Dee-1 is saying of course is calling out actin a foo around your own people, and then being formal and professional around white people, when you either don't have to be fake, or you can try to be more positive and productive within your own community. But it does also make me think of the nuance of the subject on a lighter note of behaving a bit different around different people, as long as your core principals or being are still in tact, you feel me.
