I didn't see the award and haven't been wtching it for a while. All its been doing is promote and glorify the bad and ugly of the industry that you and only few other artists are fighting to change... or preserve the true authentic side of the art. I haven't been watching these shows that I only knew that it was on when you post about it last night. Isn't it good though, Dee? That the party is finally dying? I was gonna comment last night saying I haven't been watching these shows for quite a bit now and saw so many people said the same thing. And that made me happy, Dee! To me, that's fans, at least some of us, holding ourselves accountable and not supporting this nonsense in the industry. Now hearing you talk about that it wasn't even done in the scale it used to be done makes me happier. Let it all die! All this glorification of evil while standing on the podium thanking God for the success they got from somewhere else, and the pride in how many awards you collect nonsense. I hope artists know the true prize is the impact you make in the culture of society. I hope they take pride in and consider that their legacy and not how many awards they collect.

You know what's crazy to me is that he said this was alll was going on in 2015 and during that year. It was good for me. I'll be honest I haven't watched the BET Awards in years like since 09 lol.. also celebs don't even attend the show anymore that's why Fat Joe was receiving the awards on their behalf. I do remember the times when the BET awards was a big deal and was truly considered an honor especially when the culture was not being given their flowers at the other shows.

As believers and followers of Jesus, we each bear a responsibility to represent Him well. When we say we follow Him but we bear bad fruit, it plants a seed in someone who may be on the fence or already lukewarm; giving them license to abandon the faith or choose the world. We have to live in such a way that makes Jesus so attractive to unbelievers and people with one foot in the culture one foot out that they make a conscious choice to choose the King!
