So I'm in the US Army and unfortunately i lost my Sergeant's favorite knife a while ago and he's being an amazing NCO to me. I liked him like a father. And he's soon to be promoted from a Staff Sargent (E6) to a Sergeant first class (E7) so I'm thinking of giving him one of this knifes on his promotion day. Plus his birthday is soon too so it works as a double gift.

I’ve been carrying a 27g EDC for almost a year now. The size and weight is perfect and you don’t notice it in your pocket at all. It replaced a CRKT M16 tanto which is considerably heavier and larger. I do also have a 15g and 37g but don’t carry those often.

Hi Bill. Sounds you have a great out look in life. So many things you can appreciate for being nice... just not your type of thing. Mrs Moorlander like new cars, which are nice and great cars, but for me (assuming I win the lottery tomorrow and I can get it over here in one piece) I'd have to rob America of a historic vehicle to share it's beauty with the UK. A 1951/52 Ford F100 truck just like the rusty orange Grave Digger. Hopefully the good folk of the US wouldn't mind me borrowing one if I promised to look after it 😆

Ron from Indiana, nice looking knife unusual design wouldn't use it for ECD but would be great to have in ones collection. Here it wouldn't be a problem carrying in public. Great video keep them coming GOD bless stay safe.

Hi Ron. I hope you're good my friend. Yes, it's a real shame it can't be carried in public here, however it gives more more of an excuse to keep in a nice condition. No lending this to a work colleague to ruin. Thanks for you watching and the continued support Sir

I was given my first knife by my big brother a Bowie knife in a leather sheath and me and my pals walked around the surrounding woods and fields with them openly fastened to our belts...( Usually "snake" belts ...anyone of a certain age will know what i mean lol) we'd call to the local newagents for our 2000-AD and Action..Whizzer and Chips comics and 1/4 sherbert Lemons or Yorkshire mixture ...no one batted an eyelid ...I was kind of obsessed with knifes as a kid as i was into hiking/ camping /bird/wild life spotting outdoor stuff and had various swiss army, bowie types and even a few fancy "flick" knifes from a trip to London where you could get them from martial arts shops as I recall ..thats where if I remember a bought mine along with a bloody great sword ...my Mum told me off for spending all my hard earned paper round money on ridiculous useless toys when i could have bought a nice coat or books lol the flick knives were very ornate but really no good for camping but good for messing about with ,playing splits with your mates and just generally interesting to have ...Never once did it enter our minds that these were offensive weapons used by thugs on the rob and flogging crack cocaine on street corners ...we were like Just William....with out catapults (albeit black widow ones ) Gat guns and Raleigh chopper/Grifter and Javelin racer bikes..and many surrounding rural areas within walking distance .well kinda a less posh Barnsley working class version lol This went on until i got to about 15 and got into playing guitar in bands and smoking weed and music...and other "cool" stuff like er Girls (not that i was successful at either music or "birds".as we called women in those days lol.) the knifes were boxed and put away ....replaced by other toys... guitars amps effects pedals...Records ..etc... Fast forward from the late 70s early 80s to 2022...I hear of the whole new ( new to me id never heard of it and been kind of practising it unknowingly for years with my rucksack full of "stuff i just might need lol)...EDC.....so I decided one day to buy my wife a small Swiss army knife for her handbag ...I got her a lovely Explorer plus and had it engraved with her name (actually I liked it so much i was slightly jealous and will get myself one one day)....so she takes it to work and as she works in a well known designer clothes shop uses it to open packaging and other stuff you use a SAK for ...until one day her manager sees her whip it out on the shop floor to prise a tag off something and tells her she cannot bring a knife into work ..confiscates it off her until home time ...She later looked up the law and explained to him its perfectly legal to carry but he digs his heels in and says "it looks bad to customers and the shop if they see you with it"...after all my wife is is a very dangerous looking 58 years old lady who could easily be passed off as a female street gang member lol...but she doesnt want to cause trouble at work so puts it away in the tool cupboard at home ...meanwhile i discover that had i been stopped by the police and they searched my rucksack , among the work lunch box ...plasters torch .Spare change ...charger for my phone ..various tablets for headache ..you know the usual EDC stuff ...the 40+ years old fully metal 4" Locking knife thats been tucked in a pocket of my rucksack for the last 10 years ...would have got me in big trouble by the police if they had searched my bag ..it was even in my rucksack when i went to an opera with my wife and family once as i had my rucksack on me....Hey you never know when you may need a knife at Beethoven's one and only opera Fidelio ....lol....So needless to say im looking at a SAK to replace it.... Anyway love your channel...in a way its more down to earth than the many USA EDC channels with their obsession with sub machine guns ..automatic weapons, and stacks of ammunition bought probably from the local petrol station whilst buying a can of pop lol and general preparing for a nuclear war vibe ...Hell....i even get the impression that some of them USA Ted Nugent fans, Survivalist MAG types are disappointed that there is a (and i think terrible ...because all wars are terrible theres nothing good about another country invading an bombing innocent people ) horrible war in the Ukraine and they cannot get to implement all their arsenals and stock piles of ammo and guns.... stuck in safe America....although with any nut job been allowed to buy as much guns as he can afford maybe its not so safe .... I'm actually not down on guns as an hobby as such....a long time ago a mate who kept hand guns and various rifles (his dad owed a gun shop ) took me to his shooting club and i had a go and really enjoyed it and considered it as a hobby as i found it very interesting ....but i only had so much money and time and stuck with my guitars ...a couple of years later they were banned due to a infamous mass shooting and so that was that...It didnt seem worth the hassle ...and even air guns seem heavily restricted....in my day it was a common sight to see a air rifle carried by someone off to the woods ...now if you saw that paranoia would creep in and people would get nervous...hed even probably be stopped a question by the police if they saw him whizzing by in their panda car...you never see a cop on the beat anymore ......a few always spoil it for the law abiding people who just want to pursue their hobby ... I have mixed feelings though as if it makes a safer country and stops a mass shooting ...And it would seem that we in the UK as far a i can remember have not had many mass shootings as semi automatic as used by armies to kill as many people as can be done are hard to get hold of even by terrorists and real professional criminals....so who knows....i have always fancied archery....good God ive wrote a flippin essay lol

Paul, you've definitely spent some time thinking here buddy 🤣 so much to take in. Living through the 80s for sounded similar to you. Proper country small village life. Think back now my childhood was like an Enid Blighton book. Brook jumping, making bases and stick swords. It was definitely a more simple time. For me ever body understood their own personal responsibilities and that was accepted. Now everyone else is to blame and the many are ruled by the bad doings of a few. Guaranteed not a single wannabe gangsters has been stabbed with a SAK or even a Mora knife... It's a over the counter knife from Asda 😊 but that's a whole different piece of content. If I get my time travelling machine sorted, I'll message you first buddy

Unfortunately the few ruin it for the many. Would be nice if one could apply for a free license similar to amateur radio. I'm a big fan of traditional slip joints and swiss army knives but would be nice to be able to walk around jobs with a swiss tool and locking utility knives in the pocket and not be harassed. Or a nice locking Victorinox while camping. I know there's reasonable justification and stuff like that but at the age of 50 I've seen seen enough policing across different countries (inc uk) to know not to always rely on the people in uniform's better judgement.

It's definitely a shame as law abiding people will follow the law. None of this will ever stop people carrying knives. It's a social issue not the knives fault. If knives were wiped off the face of the planet tomorrow these naughty wanna be gangsters would pick up a cricket bat, or a hammer, or a rope with a few knots tied in the end. The we'd have to ban cricket... so not that bad really 😆

@@MoorlanderEDC it funny to hear this argument used for knives I'm used to hearing about firearms. I will say say goofy knife laws are not limited to Britain. Where I live I can carry a pistol no questions asked but leagaly I can't conceal a knife over 4 inches.
@bookofb2098
@bookofb2098 2 жыл бұрын
@@billb3374 some arguments overlap but substantially the difference is imho that a knife can be a tool, whereas a pistol is by design a weapon. I don't see any reasonable justification in "tactical" knives being carried around for no reason, but had I still been doing fieldwork (computer networking / telecoms) would have been more than happy to be able to have a nice posh Swiss Tool on my belt.

That's good to hear. I've spent a lot of time visiting Europe with my family and travelling with work. It's strange the disconnect we have hear only live 22 miles away. I hope we manage to sort something out. It's nice being able to get products easier from the US, however my Tasmanian Tiger deliveries are getting harder to get 😆 never mind the cheap booze runs to Calais and back in the summers. I think we're stronger together if we can sort this silliness out

@@MoorlanderEDC I'm married to a British/Canadian girl and currently in London. We got married on a river barge on the Thames [on the cheap]. We had 33 guests counting 17 different nationalities. I also work for a European company and one of my last meetings in 2019 before the world went to the dogs in Prague, amongst seven attendees we had a British passport, a Maltese one, a Dutch, a Czech, a Slovak, and two Finnish. That meeting was followed shortly by another one in Amsterdam where I caught up with some of the Italian colleagues. Then I took the train back to London via Brussels, and a short train home from St Pancras. Be it Prague, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Brussels, it was no different than hopping on a train to Manchester or Leeds. Anyway, I digress and reminisce. Hope at some point to be able to pop over to the Dusseldorf office and detour to Solingen.

I ordered a knife from Deejo and I never received it. Deejo won't refund my money because it was a custom knife and they tell me I need to do the work to find the knife that was apparently lost in shipping. So, I didn't get my knife, I didn't get a refund and Deejo expects me to locate the knife myself. What an absolutely horrible company and customer service!
