I think everyone should know the story behind this That week Scott was sick and lost his voice, their rehearsal went terrible. You can tell by Scott having a lil voice crack at the end. Just right before they performed, the other two groups did amazing. They probably thought they were going home already but as you see miracle happened. And I just love kirstie’s cutest smile at 5:47, it just looks like she knew everything came together and their arrangement went perfectly perfect. Also, Mitch was being bullied with his voice when he was in high school. You can imagine how scary it was to perform on stage without backup voices but just himself alone doing his part. This song isn’t just about the incredible arrangement, it is also a pure miracle

Squeeeeeeeeeee!!!! I have been waiting patiently for you to get to this one. I knew you would freak out. I loved your reaction Dee. Up until this moment the producers had them keep Mitch as much in the background as they could. The judges were even told to not mention Mitch as much so the focus wouldn't be on him. Why? Because his sexuality was clear and they didn't want that in the forefront. Mitch was already nervous and suffering anxiety and panic attacks because of bullying he got at school all through his teen years, so when the producers pretty much said we don't want him noticed, that only added to his anxiety. The others did everything they could to help him week after week to get through it. Scott of course was his biggest rock. This performance was PTX's way of saying FU to the producers. They purposely made sure Mitch got that spotlight and knew there was no way the judges couldn't not comment about Mitch. If you watch when the song is over, Mitch is shaking and Avi grabs him then Kevin and Scott comes over, all holding him up and congratulating him. He and Scott talked about this in an interview and Mitch was scared what would happen after they did this and he was shaking. Watching Avi grab him up to hold up his friend brought tears to my eyes. To this day Mitch still suffers from anxiety and panic attacks before every show and the others give him time to be alone to deal then encourage him on the side of the stage before they go on. Mitch said once he steps on stage and sings that first note, all his anxiety flushes away and he feels like he is in his element and just lives in the music. I can definitely see that because he is sooooooo damn amazing live. And YES you need to watch the winner announced. Mitch baby looks like he is dumbstruck and about to faint. You have to watch it. As for what else to do on Monday's, there is still A LOT of PTX you can do as well as Superfruit.

Thanks for that info. I love Mitch so much. It geeks my heart that he was bullied. He has a very angelic voice. He gets me through so many struggles. I was also bullied in high school. I deal with severe anxiety with severe agoraphobia and severe PTSD and Mitch just helps me deal. I'm hoping one day I can overcome the agoraphobia enough to go to s concert and meet him.

You got it right, Dee! PTX won Season 3 in 2011 and Home Free won Season 4 in 2013 (the show was technically cancelled after Season 3, but brought back for a fourth season presumably based on Pentatonix' success.) The first season was won by Nota, a group from Puerto Rico and the second by Committed, originally a gospel based group from Alabama. The fifth "season" (which was NOT a season, but a single 2-hour show) was won by the Melodores from Vanderbilt University.

This is the 12th performance, but not even the 12th week they've been together bc once most of the groups were eliminated, they started doing 2 performances per episode to fill the 1 hour slot and further challenge the remaining groups. If I remember right, it was starting like episode 8??? Usually each one had a theme (like country, hip hop, rock, etc) so they could pick the song themselves from within the theme, but on this one the judges got to pick for them to see what they could do with it and they killllllllled it.

This performance decided the winner. They do perform another song in the 13th week but that just fills in time building up to the reveal of the winner. That 13th song is quite an anti-climax and they were very tired at this point. I have wondered for some time if they intentionally chose the right moment to clobber the competition with Mitch or was it more of a confidence growing process. Comments?

The final showcases two performances: 1. Give Me Just One Night by 98* featuring the host, and 2. This was the last judged song of the competition. They perform at the finale but it has no bearing on the outcome of the competition. The performance is with Nick the host, but the choice was already made before that show. This is the second best live performance I have seen from PTX. The best is "Aha!" in Singapore of course. I really wished that you had let the video play just a bit longer it is both amazing and sad. They interview the group right as they come off stage. Avi is in tears and says "This has always been my dream and to be acknowledged like I have all season, and with these guys. They're my family now. I want to do this for the rest of my life and I want to do it with them." Loved the reaction.

Dee dee dee!!! You missed the ending! Please - go back and listen to the end of the video. Avi says it all. There are three more performances. One is Without You, which some gripe about because it's not perfect, but I loved it. They are tired and emotional, singing Without You to each other as if they are alone on the stage. It is beautiful. The second is Una Noche with Nick Lachey. It is fun and Kirstie ... I don't think you'll mind her sexiness in that one. And in the finale, they hear who won, and then they sing for just a minute or two at the end of the show. Looking forward to your reactions to all.

Yeah, voting was done after the night of the 11 & 12th performances, & PTX blew everyone away with both of them. The 13th & 14th performances on the finale were not included in the vote. It was just to fill the show time with a chance for each of the top 3 groups to show something else they wanted to the audience before the winning announcement. PTX actually didn't do that well on their 13th, someone didn't set up the mics right so they couldn't hear each other to keep time right & some mics were set louder than the others. You can see they quickly realize there's an issue when they start & they adjust as much as they can. Performance 14 was good though. Instead of doing it with 1 of the judges they actually sing with Nick, & let Kirstie have another turn in the spotlight singing in Spanish. Then after they announce PTX as the winner, they sing a bit of another song of their choice to end the show.

Hihi so yeah I know I am uber late. So bluetooth speakers are still kinda like normal speakers in that they wanna be stationary, which is why you were losing audio for a bit. BUT you are lovely and love to pick up the speaker and move with the music, which is fair. So just try not to close your hand over the speaker completely, or move your arm in the way of them, because bluetooth does not travel well though human bodies.

Loved watching this, in my opinion, you can skip the 13th. You're right, this performance got them the win. I would love you to see when they came back to the Sing Off in Season 4 for their guest performance of I Need Your Love. You can really see in that performance how much they grew after the Sing Off, but then they came back to where it all started for them and blew everyone away again! All the judges and Nick were so happy to see them and congratulate them on their success. It's a fun video, hope you react to it!
