Oh my gosh the snack situation! Haha my kids are like bottomless pits and are constantly asking for snacks 😩 I’m going to try a snack box, where each child has a little box of multiple snacks and that’s all they have for the day, so when it’s gone it’s gone and they can’t ask for more. It’s supposed to give them the choice of when to eat them and help them learn to pace themselves. I don’t know how well it will work but I’m going to try because I can’t afford to keep buying so many snacks and I know they’re not starving because I feed them breakfast lunch and dinner! 🤪

I’m loving the decluttering videos. You have done almost your entire house and I think it’s amazing. My kids are feeling extra snacky as well. I am doing a few things to curb this. They feel like they can snack more when they see so many snacks. I’m buying bulk too so I’m putting out just a few snack choices in the snack bins and “hiding” the rest on the top shelf behind the baking supplies. A lot of times they’re needing more than a snack so I am making peanut butter sandwiches or quesadillas to fill them up, instead of them eating 15 granola bars at once. And fruit/veggies where they can see them and grab quickly. They stay full longer with a carb and protein combined. Hope this helps. Stay well.

I found out that cooking and eating smaller portions than before "quarantine situation" is really helpful when it comes to snacks. I don't have kids, but my brother is still a child so he wants to eat "something" every hour. So he eats some fruits or a small bowl of cereal or a little bit of "normal" food instead of snacks that kinda prevents us from buying more snacks 😌

I can totally relate to the issues with having to buy extra food. We don't have a traditional pantry and have to use one of our cabinets to store food so the struggle has been real with storing 2-3 weeks worth of food!!! lol and oh my gosh, my kids have always been snackers but I feel like its worse now. The more snacks we have in the house the more they want to eat them!!

This was such an awesome video, Megan! I cannot believe how the pantry turned out. I bet you smile and breathe easier every time you walk in there now. My kid’s father is a pediatrician, so I feel you will all the free samples :) My kids are snacking like crazy too. It’s funny-many years ago I tried grocery shopping for two weeks at a time, but I found that all of us just ended up eating more food and running out of food before the 2 weeks was up, lol My daughter also has cubes for her clothes. The other day when we were decluttering, she had so much fun helping me Kon Marie fold them 💕

Loving Life as Megan It’s good though that you are reminding us all that even free stuff has it’s cost: storing and taking up space, etc... When my daughter was born, she ended up needing the special formula that’s like almost 30 dollars for a tiny little can. It was such a blessing because the vendors/drug reps who came to Eric’s office happily supplied as much as we needed for free, they just asked him to please let his patients know that we used their brand

Each evening I let my two kids chose 3 snacks (one must be a fruit or veg) they put in their snack box on the worktop and if they want a snack they can helps themselves during the day. @@lovinglifeasmegan kids need figure in life to tell them what they can and what can't have. That's learn them that everything is for people but with control and healthy mind. They to small to decide if that 3rd sweet is good for them.

Powdered tide hot water and bleach would get that out. Best cleaner and most universal cleaner I’ve ever used.

Make bigger meals that will fill them up longer, also only keep healthy things to snack on like fruits and veggies that will fill them up longer. The more sugar in the snacks they get, the more cravings they will get because the sugar is tricking them into thinking they are still hungry when they actually aren't. Also increase their water consumption because a lot of times when we think we are hungry our body is telling us we actually need water but we confuse the signals as wanting to eat not drink. To name a few things that will hopefully help, water is cheaper than snacks XD

Set a bin out for each child and give them a days worth of snacks. They can eat it at their own pace but when it’s gone, no more snacks for the day. 🤷🏼♀️. Self management and regulation. Or you may go broke😳
@lovinglifeasmegan4 жыл бұрын
Someone else suggested that as well! That might work perfectly for my 6 year old but definitely not for the 2 year old 😂 she would eat her whole bin at one time and then spend the rest of the day crying for more
