Always reuse whatever you can, there's no shame. Buying is easier than cleaning. But that means you'd have to throw the old keyboard, which will end up in a landfill. Plus, it's mostly made up of plastic, which isn't easy to recycle.

I cleaned a keyboard like this before and am still using that keyboard, I had literally no experience or the tools to clean it so I tried finding KZbin videos where people cleaned keyboards and well there was a ton of videos about it. The thing is though, they all had modern tools while my house didn’t have any tools to clean a keyboard whatsoever, and I didn’t want to annoy my parents to buy me the tools needed lel. And then I found this video and well you didn’t use the tools that are used to well clean keyboards ( no offence ) and that really helped me so I searched through my entire house to get a not used anymore toothbrush, a tissue and something that I don’t know what even is. Eh. I've used worse. Incidentally, for anybody thinking of doing this themselves for a clean, when it comes to the keys don't bother brushing all of them individually. Just soak for an hour or two, put them in a jug and stick ot under the tap to get rid of the extra dirt leftover, then stick them all together in a tea towel and shake them about until they're dry, if there's any dirt left then you can sweep it off but most will be fine. Its like an hour less work for the same result.

The keyboard I use to this day has been the same keyboard my sister used for years and my mother used it for years before her. It's gotta be at least 12 years old. One day I needed a new keyboard and my sister had it in her closet but she used another one instead I guess because it was cleaner lol, so I took it and cleaned it up. It was very disgusting and after taking it apart, I had to vacuum my room, but it was worth it because it's a very good-looking keyboard but it gets dirty very easily.
