September 1995 type event for NE Scotland on the cards. In that event a plume of thunderstorms stalled over NE Scotland, and then became a self sustaining weather system and dumped over 200-250mm rain in 72 hours. This looks remarkably similar.

Thank you, Alex. I've always been interested in weather and forecasts, and these deep dives are so interesting. I love the new graphics and look forward to seeing them used to show a variety of things as well as rainfall. The best thing about these longer videos is that they teach us so much about how you do your job, and while I wouldn't want to do it (probably not clever enough anyway), learning from you guys is a very interesting 20-25 minutes at all times! I come away feeling I'm much better informed than I do in the shorter forecasts.

I should love to see some of these remarkable jet stream and weather configurations compiled as case studies in an (e-)book to help forecasters and weather nerds everywhere. This is true most of the time from my perception but not always but why do weather systems appear to slow down when travelling over the land mass which is the UK. Why does this seem to create the difference between the speed of weather changes in Devon and Cornwall for example compared with London and Kent?
