I’m Orthodox but I have been to both Palestinian Orthodox & Muslim weddings ! First time in Brooklyn, NY in the 1970’s ! My friend had to go through three different wedding ceremonies to satisfy all ! At the reception men and women separate (of course I made excuses to mingle anyway). They passed out trays of cigarettes! When it was over, I felt exhausted but in a good way !

Thanks for sharing your amazing experience! Never seen trays of cigarettes before lol!

Lovely and joyous! Reminds me of my own wedding. Although it ended in divorce it was a beautiful day and night with my entire family. Many who are no longer with us. Treasured memories rooted in tradition. Tabouli, dubka( our family traditionally uses the song NEVER ON A SUNDAY but our dj didn't have it so we used hava nagila🙄 and yes I said dj 😞) , father daughter dance and more dancing! ❤❤❤ I'm 54yo now, next time live music. Lol

Most of the "Holy sites" N HIS ministry R in the Arab sites in the "Land". Bethany, the Mount of Olives, Bethlehem as you mentioned, etc. My 1st time there, we went to an awesome Palestinian restaurant in East Jeru. The portions were amazing.....and it was so reasonably priced. That wedding looks so fun....unfortunately, I don't know any here N Texas to become friends with! 😂😂😂😂 The ladies all look so lovely! At my Scottish wedding years ago, we had similar dances, believe it or not...

So glad you got to experience that! You know, there are so many similarities between Scottish and Palestinians--right down to the bagpipes lol!

Thanks for sharing. I wanted to ask a question that might sound weird so pardon me. I notice many Western names, is that typical of Arab Christians?
@blanchetvАй бұрын
No question is weird! =) I would say there is an even split between Arabic names and western ones for Arab Christians. They love saint's names in particular. Or it could be a reflection of their education. For instance my name is Blanche because my mother speaks fluent French from going to French school in Bethlehem, and she loved that name.

Thanks Blanche. I'm a South Asian Muslim who was born and brought up in the West but now live in the middle east in a country that is very much a melting pot of nationalities. I learned how to read Arabic (Qur'an) when I was a child but my first experience of non Muslim Arabs and non Muslims speaking Arabic was here where I live now. So I'm enjoying learning 😊. I've been watching you for years. Keep up the good work. God bless you and your family.
