We have been using the NSP primes for about 3 years now. They have made the coating process easier and faster for us. So many detailers are still not understanding these products. We have seen Gtechniq and Gyeon coatings both the consumer ones and pro ones preform better after using these NSP primers. Glad we switched to this process ears ago.

I just used NSP 150 recently on a really hammered BMW finish. Paired with the Beasley’s wool pad it did what two of my other favorite compounds could not. And I also noticed faster speed and larger areas worked best.
@MikeGDetailing Жыл бұрын
First off Chris is awesome. The NSP’s are great. The learning curve is not that big with them. But like Chris stated one has to be open minded and change up the technique to be successful with them. I’ve been successful using them and no panel wipe is so efficient. I have had other people tell me they didn’t like them. They didn’t put the time in to understand and learn the product. I have used the NSP’s with coating from brands such as Gyeon, Adams Graphene, Cquartz, Diamond Protech, Jade, Armour Detail Supply and the list goes on. No issues with premature coating failure.

Thanks for sharing, I agree it did not take too long to learn but, it’s different. I’m excited to see how it holds up.

So instead of doing paint correction by using a compound and or.polish. This line up is doing the paint correction and also priming the surface before applying a ceramic coating? Or is this completely separate? so after doing a 1 or 2 step correction?
@nicksdragon692911 ай бұрын
Ok, when you transitioned to faster arm speed, what was the machine speed and the approximate size of an area you were working with one application of three dots? Then when you moved on to the black pad, it sounds again as if you stayed with the faster speed and larger area. Please expand on that. Very interested in this product. I have only used the 45 for finishing after using Rupes Blue and Gold along with the rupes yellow and blue wool. Thanks ahead of time.

A did several comparison with optimum intensive polish, and 150 cuts much less, unless i put many lines of 150 on the wool this time it cuts simillar to intensive.. What i can do better with 150?
@danlc956 ай бұрын
I use mostly Optimum these days. If I remember correctly, Optimum's Polishes also work as a primer for their consumer and professional coatings. I did a car with my co-worker at work. He used Sonax Perfect Finish on a yellow Meguiar's disc, and I used Intensive on a black Meguiar's disc. When we got done I took a break, but he started coating. He either forgot or decided not to do a panel wipe. When I coated the areas he polished, it was only then that I realized he didn't do a panel wipe. The coating application over a surface polished with Perfect Finish was hazy, and difficult to wipe the haze away. The areas where I had used Intensive went on as if they were panel wiped. Now, I have no idea how any of this is going to turn out because chances are the shop will lose that customer... 🤦♂️

@danlc956 ай бұрын
@walenrod17 - Of course. I'm low man on the totem pole over there, so once they start a process, I have no choice but to continue. Please note that I follow manufacturer guidelines from Optimum when using their line, and for any other job I do on my own.

I really like the fact of using a primer for the coating and the temperature of the polishing is a huge plus too. For efficiency I do not see any gains as the trim has to be taped off and it looks like the pads cannot be washed between panels. I do wonder about the nano technology bonding to the pads and the difficulty of cleaning the pads at the end of the day. The ability of Dr. Beasley’s to put a measurable product on the paint is something no one else is doing. Ceramic coatings add a few microns but nothing which is measurable to show a customer. Fifteen to twenty microns is something to show a customer. I am looking forward to the updates and to watching the coating manufacturers come up with alternatives to PPF.

Pads wash out just fine and the trim does not need to be taped off from my experience using the nsp's.

Sorry if already answered. What about pad cleaning from panel to panel? Does the NSP come off ok or does the pad get all gummy. Can it be used with a rotary or is it designed for a dual-action only? When done, is the pad trashed because it's saturated with the primer. Since the ceramic coating was sticky on the NSP side, what does that mean. Is it related to the bonding as it is a primer or because the other side was done with a panel wipe?

@MikeGDetailing That's good. I'm on the order list with Slims in the UK for the first batch of Dquartz Go when it arrives here. Its going onto a 2024 Honda Civic Advance (Hybrid model). I'm thinking of a way to allow the coating to make a more of an established bond to the paintwork to make it last longer and to maximise its performance. The chemistry is different to UK3.0. It would be a shame if it didn't work with a conventional NSP primer.

Can someone PLEASE for the love of god get these guys to stop using nonsense buzzwords...like "nanotechnology", "nanoprotection", etc. It's become a catch-all nonsense marketing buzzword, to not have to actually discuss the chemistry and processes taking place. What is it? Are there abrasives in it? What kind of abrasives (SMAT or not)? What kind of abrasives, chemically speaking? What is the carrier system? What is the chemistry of the "protection" layer? Is it Silica? Polysilazane? Quartz? What? What kind of bonding occurs? Etc, etc, etc. This is a relatively complex subject matter, that has a lot of variables. Explaining away all of that with "nanotechnology" does absolutely zero for us that want to know what we're looking at, and buying. And honestly just ends up sounding dumb...
