Speaking as a fellow fisherman, there is nothing more perfect than the taste of fish that you caught, cleaned and cooked yourself.

Man I wish we had croakers around here. I grew on the Elizabeth River is Chesapeake Virginia. We used to catch huge spot and croakers with earth worms dug up from our yard. Damn I miss the 80’s. 9 years old running around in a 12 foot John boat with 9.9 Johnson outboard was the best days of my life. No doubt about it.

My aunt from Germany would put small Croaker's in a Mason jar with vinegar, onions, radishes and spices. Cured them for at least one year then eat bones and all( headed scaled and gutted before pickling) she couldn't get enough of them.

Good video. I like it when fishermen eat their catch. I believe Victor (Landshark) is right there aren’t trash fish, just trash cooks. Do a blacktip cc&c. One little shark would be a good video.

Used to love catching bull croakers around the battleship and in the mouth of the Spanish River. Some very clean tasting fish that can be cooked in every way imaginable, grilled, smoked, fried, you name it. I was raised in Mobile and have some fond memories of laying into the giant croakers that hung around the coast. That was over 15 years ago though, I don't what it's like over there now but I intend to find out soon.

caught off the beach they taste really similar to whiting. Caught back in the bay where they eat a little more fish and they are more similar to redfish. Off the beach they eat almost all sand fleas, ghost shrimp, and other crustaceans along the beach.

"I don't wanna net him because I'm doing catch-and-release" Is that because they net pulls their slime coat off when they thrash? Is there a net material that prevents that?
@VitaminDeeTV3 жыл бұрын
Ego nets have a rubberized coating on the netting material. That’s probably your best bet. But if you’re releasing the fish (especially speckled trout) it best to wet your hands first, then quickly release them. 🤙 -D
@BamaSaltwater3 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly why , yup! There are some nets as mentioned but the best way is to have wet hands when handling and let em go !
