Props for mentioning Mr. Thornton. He's forgotten more about fishing than most of us will ever know. I haven't seen any other KZbinrs mention him. When I took up surf fishing, I read everything I could find that he ever wrote, and because of it, was able to rapidly get my bearings in the salt, as a central MS/AL fisherman.

Best way to cook all fish IMO. Tho I put my lemons in the cavity and put the garlic mutter on 1st for the seasoning to stick to. But the taste is most important. We are lucky we can catch some of the best food available. Nice one mate.

Bama, you know that when you start using bigger baits that you should use bigger gear. Even with your bigger rod and reel I'm not sure you'd have unstuck that stingray though! They're like a suction cup when they burrow under the sand. I've never even heard of a Soap Fish either and I've been fishing in the gulf my entire life! Maybe they don't work their way down to Texas.

Nice vid. But I always wonder why you guys don't use a simple plastic pearl under the weight. Every time the lead bounces on the knot while casting and fighting, it lowers the duracy of the line. Often there are sharp grades on it and even if not, the pressure damages it. That's a standard thing in Europe, and I think every fish you can save from dying is worth a few cents for that very cheap cosmetic. No offend, just wondering why... Good catches and greets from Bavaria
