As a massage therapist with over 30 years on the job, (graduated from National Holistic institute 1985) its good to see an instructor going back to the basics of massage, and the muscle drawings are a great tool to remind us of what we are really working on. I often forget to include side lying techniques for low back work. Will have to start doing this more often for my low back pain clients. Thank you for these videos.

I really need to get in and get the tension work out of me. Anyone with deep pain issues in the hip, let your therapist work as deep as you can handle. @MassageTherapeutics9155 жыл бұрын
Justo Torres she’s very blessed to have you massage her. Yes there’s a lot more to massage that most people don’t realize. I see that with new students. Most don’t realize how much anatomy & physiology & kinesiology they have to learn. It’s not easy learning medical terminology & pathologies etc. One very important thing I can share is always put pressure on the limbs towards the heart. Veins have little valves to keep flow going one way back towards the heart. If you press against these little valves you can do damage to them. This is one reason people get varicose veins. Valves are damaged & don’t close anymore. So guard against deep pressure away from the heart. Centripetal motions on the limbs.
@justotorres58605 жыл бұрын
@@MassageTherapeutics915 That is fascinating! I heard it mentioned to always apply pressure towards the heart and the idea of controlling the flow of blood makes sense to me, but I did not know there where actual valves in our veins and that they could be damaged. I will definitively keep that in mind moving forward. Thank you so much!

Maria, I so appreciate how you take calmly time to demonstrate each technique as well as to thoroughly explain what you are doing. There are other good videos out there covering similar info. I love how you take the time to really get across what you want to demonstrate. I like how you recap important points. And, you still get a ton of important technique and info into your videos without that ... rush ... rush ... rush ... effect. BTW, your anatomy drawings on the body are SUPER!

@@MassageTherapeutics915 Hi ! Yes, every thing is getting better for the everyday life. People get back to work, but a lot of them have stopped working for 3 months, so a big part of them won't be able to pay their rent, a lot restaurants, and small companies as well. sad times are still ahead... 2020 is going to be a really bad year... and 2021 as well.... for my work, it's okay, people come to me again. I always wear a mask... is it useful or not, I don't really know. We stay strong and healthy, do the same ! ;-)
@MassageTherapeutics9154 жыл бұрын
Thomas Sussfeld thank you Thomas for your reply. It is the same way here in the states. I have not worked in three months either! From what I hear it is difficult to work with a mask. It’s hot too. I think it does help because it keep from spreading droplets of saliva from spreading. There’s not enough information on this virus to know how it’s going to be in the future. Until then I think we need to stay cautious. I agree with you that 2020 is a bad, sad year for many people! Specially those small business owners that have worked so hard to have a little business and just watch it fall apart. The mental consequences of this will be felt for several years. We must stay focused on the positive and adapt to the new changes to survive in a healthy way. It’s a pleasure conversing with you. Créez une grande journée et merci pour la belle conversation

Amazing !! ❤ How lucky are those who have had your expertise and attention to detail to work out the needs of your clients !! I do not even know what or how to look for a good massage therapist in my area. I also believe I have far too many painful areas on my body to work out. At what age do you recommend beginning massage therapy ?? And also how often should someone receive treatment ?? I have had pain as far back as I can remember.
@MassageTherapeutics915 Жыл бұрын
I really appreciate your attention to detail! I have a lot of clients that have many areas that need work. I just take them one at a time. There’s no specific age to start massages. Preferably when you’re young. When you start young you reap more benefits & your body recovers quickly. If you want a detailed massage therapist look up neuromuscular or medical massage therapist in your area. Good luck to you & thank you for your Comment 🤗🙏
