How was cell service. Seems like site 5 is only available during the week
@outdoormary7 ай бұрын
I have Verizon, and had spotty reception, a few bars of lte. Site 5 is especially busy because it’s so close to the water. If you’re looking specifically to be close to the water, you can try Desoto Falls recreation area which is about 30 miles further north heading towards Cleveland. They have several sites on the water , namely #14-#23.

Nicely done . Did you say only eight dollars a night. Is it reservable .
@outdoormary10 ай бұрын
Thank you! It’s 8$ per night during the off season, now that it’s closer to Spring, it’ll be 15$ per night. All sites must be reserved on recreation.gov

You are doing more harm than good publishing all these videos of campgrounds.
@outdoormary10 ай бұрын
I’m sorry you feel that way. While I do understand the concern of these beautiful places becoming too crowded or misused. I do feel that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy nature, and this beautiful world. That being said, I do hope that all visitors to these places will treasure these areas, and leave them better than they found them.

I agree with the first response to this video, there’s too many places here in North Georgia that’s completely trashed because of the publicity and the people coming from the border destroying the these places. Take a drive over to Dicks Creek, one of many places now in North Georgia that’s no longer worth the trip because of this type of publicity. Happy to hear you enjoyed your trip on the other hand.

People need and deserve to have recreation areas in the NF. There's less of them than years ago. I agree that people should not abuse them but having fewer just means more use. I always clean up a site when I use one often picking up others' trash. I prefer more primitive sites but a lot of them are closed.
@StandAloneAdventures8 ай бұрын
@@robertbates6057 They’re closed just for that reason, they’re going in and trashing the place and leaving it for others to clean up, and the NFS ( National Forest Service) is getting tired of doing it for them so their answer to the problem is to simply just close it down. I to prefer primitive camping and do my best to clean it up if needed when I get somewhere and make sure to keep it clean when I leave, but there’s sorry ass people in this country along with those being allowed into this country that just plain don’t give a shit about so we have to suffer the consequences because of this

@@StandAloneAdventures , it’s highly probable that the only people that may find this video are specifically searching Deep Hole in the search bar, which means that they already have this campground on their radar, and this video will simply help them to find the best spot for them, that will accommodate their rig etc. I’ve been in situations where I’ve booked a trip, just to drive hundreds of miles and realize that my camper won’t fit, or tent pad is too small etc. And when that happens it can be difficult to try and find someplace to rest your head for the evening. These videos are simply to help others avoid such situations, so that they can enjoy their planned camping trips. I can’t control the behavior of others, but I always make sure to clean any trash I see while camping, and leave the place better than I found it.

This campground is terrible. I camped at site 3, and we were smelling the pit toilet all night. I’ll never camp here again.
@outdoormary24 күн бұрын
@@bikeflu sorry you had a bad time there, we loved our time there, and didn’t smell anything from the pit toilets, but we usually camp these places in the winter when it’s basically empty. Most of these government-run primitive campgrounds have pit toilets, so that might be kind of hard to avoid. Maybe try DeSoto Falls campground in Cleveland, sites 14 &15 are creekside, but much further away from pit toilets.
