Live In London (Kilburn 74) features my favourite versions of Lay Down Stay Down,Mistreated & You Fool No One. Well worth tracking down!

I'll keep an eye out for that one. My California Jam cd is all I got from the Burn tour and its incomplete version of that show - missing Lay Down Stay Down!

I think London '74 is the best mark 3 performance

I saw DP in 1988 open for Aerosmith. They played Hush that night at Giants Stadium. GNR opened the show as well

That’s cool! That’s the concert I believe they filmed for the Paradise City video. Looking it up, this leg of the tour was the first reappearance of Hush before disappearing again till Battle Rages on tour. Probably to promote Nobody’s Perfect album.

I always wanted that album but it’s out of print and goes for out of print prices. I might have to bite the bullet and just torrent it for my collection.

They remastered live and rare. It sounds better now.

I knew it was rereleased but for some reason I needed that version because of that cool cover.

Knebworth 1985 is my fave. Even better than Made in Japan!

The Perfect Strangers tour had the best set list. It’s basically Made in Japan plus deep cuts from the new album like Gypsy’s Kiss they never played again.

@@BlackTerror Oh yes, I agree. What makes this concert greater than usual is the fantastic atmosphere of the crowd. Because of them the band play at the hights of their capacity. Like You, I am a big Deep Purple fan, and I also like to hear those deep cuts on the live records. I think Deep Purple had great setlists after the reunion with Blackmore (1984-93). I wish they could release more live albums from this period of time, especially the 1987-88 tour (I only have that 1 cd version of Nobody's Perfect like you), because they played a lot of new tracks then like The Unwritten Law and Call Of The Wild (love these tracks, only played on the first leg of the tour, then dropped) and of course the JLT fronted tour in 1991-92, when they played Burn and the stuff from "Slaves and Masters" as well as Hey Joe, from the Hendrix catalogue.

@@piotrlangtvedt I'll have to check out Knebworth on youtube unfortunately because its out of print and the imports are waaay expensive. Although I did eventually buy a japanese 2 disc import of Nobody's Perfect! I paid almost $30 just for 3 extra songs but I felt incomplete without it. Luckily DP stuff is constantly rereleased but under different names a lot so maybe I'll eventually get Knebworth. I try to collect at least one show from every album tour. Its the only time you'll ever hear some songs live. The Slaves and Masters tour which I love is probably the only album tour with a live cd which blows because of all the cool stuff they did.

@@BlackTerror Have you seen that Blackmore interview? Link here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGXKoJtqd7GZqdU I love his black humor... Oh yes, congrats to having that 2 cd version now. :) I collect Deep Purple live like you do, but I don't like the shows after the Bananas album onwards so I draw the line there. And I miss Mark I: Live at Inglewood, but otherwise I have a live album from every tour that's been released. Since I live in Sweden, Europe, (but originally from Poland), I think I have easier to access some albums than you do. And you have some albums that I've never seen in my life (like Rainbow's Boston 1981). I found Knebworth in a local cd store 20 years ago, it's released in a fat jewel case and Simon Robinson has written an informative text in the booklet. It's quite similar to the Australian live cd from 1984 but misses Under The Gun and Child In Time (yes!, tired of that song). I will in the near future buy Bombay live 1995 - I have been waiting for the prize to drop. A lot of great material from the various DP live albums are on the two DP boxes that I have: Listen, learn, read on - 6 cd and Shades of...- 4 cd. Buy them if you get the chance!

@@piotrlangtvedt I got to watch this video. He did one interview that had me laughing where he said stone faced that his mother was a witch ...and his father worked at the airport. So weird, I loved it. You don't like live albums after Bananas but now that they got Simon Mcbride I'm hoping for another live album out of them. Got to have all the guitarists on record. They added Anya back to the setlist too.

For now - 2023 - there are 47 officially released Deep Purple live albums in total!
@BlackTerror

I got just about half of them then. Such a mountain to climb to collect them all. I doubt I’ll ever come close to completing that collection. Of all them releases no Slaves and Masters tour, only 1 from House of Blue Light.

@@BlackTerror I've got almost half of them too as well, but mosly different releases than yours. Mostly because I've got only one with Bolin (Phoenix Rising - a sort of compilation of Tokyo and Long Beach) and one with Morse (Total Abandon). The rest is only with Blackmore, he's my man!..., but since I saw DP with Simon on this tour I wan't to have a live album with him as well. There's no one live album for Who do we think we are tour, which is quite surprising if you know that Machine Head tour has at least 5 full concerts like Made In Japan x3, BBC in Concert, Copenhagen. From WDWTWA there's only 3 songs added as a bonus to the Copenhagen album, a show from 1972. And there's no Mary Long or Rat Bat Blue, played on that tour! It's a pity since I like these tracks a lot and hearing some bootleg versions here on YT isn't enough. Mary Long stand's out with Blackmore playing slide throughout the song and it's much more a rocker played live. Also I miss more live albums with Rod Evans. There's only one: Live at Inglewood, which I don't have. But I have him live with DP in BBC Sessions 1968-70, a 2 cd album with 27 tracks, 15 are with Evans. He's really good live!

@@BlackTerror What live album with Steve Morse is the best? Like I wrote to you before I only have Total Abandon.
@BlackTerror
@BlackTerror Жыл бұрын
@@piotrlangtvedt Best Morse era live album and one of their best period is DP with the London Symphony Orchestra from 1999. They play the Concerto from 1969 which i don't love it, but they and have some guests and play some solo stuff with guests like Ronnie James Dio which I really liked. Total Abandon I don't have but has a good setlist. I also don't have Live at the Olympia from 96 which I want but seems to be expensive and out of print at least in the US. That tour was my first DP concert and would love a full show from that tour. I got Montreux 96, 06, they're okay but short for being festival sets, Perihelion a DVD, one of those soundboard archive cd's from Newcastle 01, decent setlist but just another show. Also a compilation of the recent Wacken and Tokyo albums which were only okay. Ian's voice wasn't great. The one I listen to the most is a bootleg of a show I went to even though the sound is bad.

@@BlackTerror Hi, thanks for your answer. I highly recommend Total Abandon - it's from the same year as the Concerto number 2. I've heard Concerto '99 - great setlist. But it's difficult to find it on a cd where I live. Live at the Olympia, I had that one, but sold it, I didn't like it - Gillan's voice was in terrible shape. You missed my comment before that one about Morse...😕, I send you two after each other!
