How the West was won.. its Deep Purple rock it..Rithcie Blackmore most spectecular and outrageous gitarist that time back up by his peformence Late Jon Lord,Glen Hughes,Roger Glover and Ian Paice mostly talent voice David Coverdale so as Ian Gillian...👍👌
@jorge-c2l3 ай бұрын
Their musicianship was unrivaled, whoever says Page is a superior guitar player than RB has no clue about real playing. Blackmore's tone, pace, knowledge, precision should be a model to follow, Page is ok and a great composer but he could only dream of doing what RB does. Ian Pace is second to none and Lord a rare virtuoso in a heavy rock band

The only song of Ritchie's that Tommy Bolin played really well, an r'n'b stomper. Hear Live In California 76 for a brilliant version. This is excellent, but the drums weren't mixed properly, it sounds like Paiceys playing a biscuit tin. Custard Cream anyone?
@ScottyColoradoKid7 жыл бұрын
this was my favorite DP song; but here its just a little (actually way too fast)...were they all on blow this night? (1985 Im betting yes) Ians drum solo; the whole damn thing is just on his snare; gosh Ian you have a whole bunch of other drums in front of you; why not give them a whack too? No they kind of blew it on this; they should have just played it at its original tempo....but will always love DP even more than Zep!
@GreenerHill7 жыл бұрын
I prefer Lazy as a faster song, must admit. Makes it sound leaner and more urgent. Re. the drum solo, I don't play drums, but I think it's the recording favouring the snare drums. Could be wrong.
@ScottyColoradoKid7 жыл бұрын
GreenerHill; But then again you could be right! I am a drummer that gets all anal about drum solos; but Ian has always been my favorite rock drummer, he was better than Bonham! AND Moon! but I grew up listening to Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich! Thanks for a nice polite response to my comment; its so rare anymore now, sadly
@GreenerHill7 жыл бұрын
Scott: Hi again. Thanks, and I agree. Politics is worth arguing over, perhaps, but not music. Music's one of the best things in life! Would be very interested to know how you rate Brian Downey's drumming. He and Ian Paice have (to me) a certain amount in common - lots of swing and jazz in their playing. You know the Funky Junction Play a Tribute to Deep Purple lp, Thin Lizzy with a guest singer and keyboardist? Downey gets Fireball spot on, and puts incredible fills into Hush. He's said he likes Paice's playing a lot. Cheers!
@ScottyColoradoKid7 жыл бұрын
NO, actually i dont know about any of this! I am not very knowledgable about Thin Lizzy! have to give Brian Downey another listen right now!! (Funky Junction) See this is what i love about YT; thanks for the refferral! I have found that almost every country in Europe signs off with Cheers! now, not just England! I am in Denver Colorado, 59 yrs old, played in rock bands my whole life, some that even got famous....it was a hoot, man!

it's not rap's fault, it's most modern rock bands sucking and kids just going to what is hotter. sound is competition for attention. write crappy songs in bad tunings, get ignored.

Hey, Machine Head was my first album. OK , maybe second after "Love it to Death". And I love hip hop. Tribe Called Quest, Del, OutKast, all those guys. The Roots (Fallon's house band) actually play like demons. My kids can sing Drake and know all the lyrics to "Smoke on the Water". So there.

I'm sure the reality is that back in the 70's and 80's everyone was listening to crappy pop songs as well. I still know a lot of people who have no idea who Deep Purple is. If there really were glory days where everyone listened to good music, then why does every video on youtube of Deep Purple's Anthem still have less than a million views while Comfortably Numb and Smoke on The Water have millions? Because there are good rock songs that get the attention they deserve, and there are lots of them that get overlooked. People like to get nostalgic and act like Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and all those bands were what everyone listened to. But its really not that different than today with great bands like Muse. They're big enough to fill up arenas and stadiums all over the world, but it still wasn't the pop culture with the exception of a few songs. They are remembered today, while shitty artists are forgotten of the 60s-90s are forgotten because that is the impact good music has, and I'm sure 20-30 years from now people will claim that the music of the 2040's sucks ass and say "Back then everyone listened to Muse, now people have shitty taste in music"

RB es un virtuoso guitarrista en estudio, con un estilo y tecnica unicos, pero en vivo todo eso se pierde, se desordena en los solos y tiende a tener mucho protagonismo metiendo su guitarra en el solo de J.Lord
@KevinSolano4 жыл бұрын

There is only Ian Paice brings me back in 1976, at that time the band was at its apogee, Gillan has lost its luster and voice. Morse tries to play hardly Blackmore and Jon Lord (God rest his soul) is IRREPLACEABLE...time is running up as they said
