Inacreditável a sincronia dessa banda. Pra mim a melhor do gênero até os dias atuais.

It's not easy to play a soulful melody with a slide and Ritchie never played a studio solo version in every each song that was amazing!

My favorite Blackmore solo on a recorded DP concert, and second favorite after the studio one from Child in Time. Fantastic

Ritchie is the honey badger of guitarists. He just doesn't care and underplays with a beautiful I-just-don't-really-give-a-shit disdain for everything and everyone going on around him. That's why he's Ritchie.

Ahhh . . . these were the days of a revitilised Ozzy which by unfortunately by this stage now a deceased Rhandy Roads. 1984 was the big year for Van Halen whose 1984 album sold an absolute motza . . . with an allege 7 million copies sold in the U.S. alone. To be honest it was the lucrative Foreigner audience that Ritchie Blackmore's pop version of Rainbow was after. Foreigner was arguably the biggest hard rock band in the U.S. with AC/DC close behind. When the dust settled . . . AC/DC won the early Eighties. The mighty Guns'N'Roses closed off the Eighties. DEEP PURPLE won the mid-1980's with their massive - Perfect Strangers - tour. Yes . . . Purple never came across as big as Zeppelin in the United States, but world-wide they were massive especially in their home country . . . the United Kingdom, mainland Europe and places like Israel and a more relaxed Soviet Union. Unfortunately, the follow up album - The House of Blue Light - was a stinker as were the other albums culminating in Blackmore's departure during the 1993 - Come Hell or Highwater tour which clearly illustrated their shortcomings. Blackmore in the late 1990's said "I should have left after the Perfect Strangers tour as all the old problems arose (the Gillan versus Blackmore debacle) and with the "nothing album meaning The House of Blue Light .

to you young people ......in the 70s Ian Gillian played 'Jesus' on the Andrew Lyold Webber album Jesus Christ Superstar...he was huge at that time..it gave the record a big push..i think Yvone Elimone was on it.sorry about the splelling..ha ha

Neither, i suspect. Probably too many whiskies the previous night. I have an official dvd release from the 1996 Tour and his voice is shot in that one as well. Shame as the rest of the band are rocking on both gigs. Don't really want to diss the guy i stress as he is one of the finest rock vocalists in the history of music and was in fine form when i saw him with DP in '96 and '98.

I am a huge Purple fan, but the band sounds like they were having a subpar night here. Gillan's voice is off, and for some reason Ian Paices drumming is not exciting like it usually is. Maybe it's just me?

Gillan with his weak voice ruins it - it's hard to listen.. He was never really good after 70s, squeaking, growling, singing out of the tune... Ritchie, meanwhile, master of his own class!
@NightShooter876 жыл бұрын
You mustn't have listened to much Gillan after the 70's. With Sabbath he was on another level and also in the 90's.

@@NightShooter87 i recall seeing him in 1980 with the Ian Gillan band and it was starting to go even then. Saw him in 2014 and it was barely recognisable.

Wow. They need to burn every copy of this night and file copyright infringements on any who tries to post this. I never saw them so completely off. Purple was usually great. I don't know what was going on this night. Ian Gillan's Range was severely lacking at this show. He looks like he was in decent shape but he was completely out of breath. And WTF was all that near the end. haha. Not a good night. I suspect Chemicals were the culprit. I think they sound terrible here except for John Lord and Roger Glover. Even my 3rd favorite drummer of all time Ian Paice was like not hitting them. Probably Ritchie and Roger turning his shit down so they could do whatever they wanted. Seen that shit show before. SMH...i can't believe this is the same band I saw in 1987 and again in 2006. They seemed much better recently and this was supposedly their peak in 1984?? I will be generous and they get C- collectively. *Ritchie who's name should have been Richard Cranium for blowing through all Gillans cues and playing complete improve most of the time a glaring D *John Lord gets a big fat B+ for carrying them all on his back the entire song and for almost a decade after. * Roger Glover gets a B because he lost points for stroking Blackmore's ego as if that's necessary. * Ian Paice gets a C+ but who knows what was going on there with Ritchie and Roger completely off the reservation. chasing Rainbows again. *Ian Gillan gets a well-deserved D- as my Grand Father at 82 yrs old sounds better than he did this night and he sounds like a Cow in the throws of the Karma Sutra with Frank Sinatra playing in the background They need to burn every copy of this night and file copyright infringements on any who tries to post this.

Gillan's singing is simply horrible. Sorry to say but I guess that affects the whole band's performance . No energy.
