I agree. This is the version I listen to when I want to hear this tune. Ian's voice has his full range, Jon Lord knew that sometimes less is more and the clear ringing of Steve's guitar give it a haunting quality that mixes so well with the lyrics to this classic blues song. 2017 is the last live tour for this legendary band. I grew up listening to rock during the time when this band was founded and DP were pioneers in what they did.

The solo by Steve Morse always reminds me of an interview with Steve Vai when Vai was talking about Morse. He said that each note he plays is so clear and concise - "like he was ringing a bell".

As a guitarist, you know you've nailed it with the solo when Ian Gillan is playing air guitar beside you. One of my favorite blues tunes - with the harmonics and clear ringing of Steve's guitar. 2017 is the last live tour for Deep Purple. 50 years. Why do they still tour? Demand. They remain one of the highest-grossing acts in the world. Yes, they may have lost a step, but if you were in their shoes you would do it too. They still love to play.

Steve Vai said that Steve Morse was a big influence on him (high praise indeed). Vai said that each note sounded like "he was ringing a bell", because of the clarity and precise method by which he played and picked during solos. You can hear what Vai was talking about during the solo in this song. Both musicians are good friends and have worked on several projects together. It is never an argument of "who is best" between the great guitarists - that is left to the fans.
