I'm just happy they've added the ability to progress in old seasons, removing one of the remaining fews bits of FOMO in the game and is basically what I wanted seasons to be in the first place as it's basically the Borderlands 3 vault card system.

Same here. While I felt the loot crates where somewhat fun and entertaining, they felt pretty underwhelming/anticlimactic because I'd always feel like it was more a way to get minerals rather than cosmetics This also helps a lot to have new players get used to the whole game, I think, because they can understand the fun of getting a dumb mustache and also understand how far the game has come to be It's something that I think almost none of us thought about but a great addition whatsoever

Hardly, the drillevator is just as much of a hunk of junk as everything else, there's not even a ceiling so you keep getting bug corpses and rocks rained down on you, all while the damn thing overheats every 10 seconds. Cost cutting is still the name of the game at Deep Rock

I think the biggest problem with fighting Harold is how much he moves. You call down the cleaning pod and he's in a whole other cave system, got to ferry the gear over. Once you start spraying him, he takes off and runs away even further.

Also the fact that you can’t just *ignore* Harold. He’s not a hazard that you have to manually activate; Harold‘s constantly making the floor a poison field that out-DPS‘s the gunner shields heal-per-second. On longer mission types where you have to stay in one area for a long time, like salvage operation and **especially** on-site refinery, the environment will get too hazardous if you let him be.

I was shocked with just how much stuff was added in this update, my biggest gripe with season 4 was the big headline items (Jetboots and the Corruptor) were just random chance events and stuff you didnt get to interact with alot, i made it to level 273 on season 4's performance pass and only fought the Corruptor 35 times, it's very jarring to see GSG take the critisicm in stride and do SO MUCH in this update instead of just saying "well you still played the game so were gonna keep half-baking these seasons" like other big game companies would do

Every two seasons share a theme and so the next season we'll probably go even deeper into Hoxxes. The core stone event spawns rifts and new enemies that are not glyphids, and are said to be "from deeper down near the core of Hoxxes." Anyone else think the rifts resemble the terrain around error cubes? Like the white crystals that blow purple/pink ish. Even the new resonance crystals could be bigger versions of the typical smaller ones. Maybe the cubes are going to finally be realized as pieces from of the core / deepest parts of Hoxxes?

I noticed some stuff on my end that I thought was pretty interesting. There are new kill lines for Web and Acid Spitters, and they're pretty good. My favorite has to be, "I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, SPITTER!" There's a new shout out line that I thought was worth pointing out. Sometimes, dwarves can now say, "MY LIFE FOR ROCK AND STONE!" The Helldivers 2 connection is beginning to grow stronger here. This is a great season and I love the new mission type. Props to the new overclocks, they're my favorite part of the update.

Just change some color values and make it a cosmetic? There should be a "beard mastery" tab in addition to weapon mastery that unlocks new beard colors. Don't ask me how beard mastery would work, I don't know. Maybe like, the more beards you unlock the more color options you get. Yeah. And they should give us like dozens of options - hot pink, salmon, neon green, seafoam green, bright orange, dark blue, etc. And some more "mixes" of colors like Greyfox does.

One minor gripe I have with the core stones is when you discover one in a dreadnought mission. If it spawns near an egg you have 2 options: pop the egg and pray (pray) that the dread doesn't activate the stone (which it has done for me) or do the core stone (which will spawn the dread). Either way it forces you to fight both simultaneously which was a miserable experience when it happened to me.

fun addition I loved reading about in the patch notes from community requests; you can now Flash freeze gas clouds! In-game it works really well, it seems like any freezing can trigger it just like flames will explode it. Although they state that "neurotoxin grenade clouds will not flash freeze due to low moisture content"

the deep scan missions are personally some of my favorite. as a driller main, i love just throwing down a c4 at the walls, waiting a few seconds for the drillevator to descend out of the blast zone, and detonate it and just see all the bug ragdolls careening to the ground. also one time i was playing engie on one of the deep scan missions, slipped off a platform and into the salt pits below. however, instead of dying, i clipped through the map and somehow landed perfectly into the geode. i let my team know, got all but one of the needed morkite seeds before falling in a pit which took out the last of my sliver of health. interesting experience, to say the least.

So many useful strats for the core stone based on the role. Gunner's zip lines help since the corespawn have no range, be on a zip line and they can't hit you. You could dig a long hole under the core stone so after the 1st phase it drops way down low to reform the shell and an engineer can plug the hole at the top so corespawn can't get into the area the stone blows open after the shell is opened again. Heck apparently timing a gunner shield so the core stone is inside the shield when it attempts to open the rifts causes it to break the event and instantly go inert to deliver to the retrieval pod

They said season 5 was the precursor to Rouge Core. Every two seasons share a theme; rival incursion/escalation for 1 and 2, Plaguefall and Critical Corruption for 3 and 4. So my hypotheses for season 6, will simply be Rogue Cores release. I seriously cannot wait for Rogue Core, a freaking fps rogue like in the depths of hoxxes 4! With the same precedral caves! Ghost ship is well on their way to claiming a place among the GOATED game devolopers, if not already! Keep up the damn fine work GSG. (Psst, please have some laser weapons in the future, I really wanna go pew pew with lasers. I got bored of this game for the first time ever last season, I had gotten everything done, and was just feeling burnt out. I really needed something cool to get me back into the game. S5 is beyond cool. Everything about it is so refreshing and fun. The S4 content felt kinda old after the first few days, but this new stuff really feels like it'll keep me around. Is do believe the Marked for death (MFD) overclock is a tf2 reference for their mechanic that has the same effect. Being marked doesn’t harm you. But in TF2 if you are MFD you take 1.5 times the damage called a Mini-Crit

on the hair color thing, taking a page out of Terraria's Book, I'd love a hair dye that changes during the mission based on something on your character, a dark beard that goes white when you're running out of ammo, a red beard that grows fainter on low health, a snazzy cyan beard that loses its color without shields, something along those lines.

Small but appreciated change I've noticed, there's actually some new music now! At the very least some of the music when in missions is remixed a bit and I really dig it! Now if they would just let us adjust the ambient music and combat music volumes separately I'll be an incredibly audibly pleased dwarf on the job!

The new mission at first was super confusing to me for some reason like I could never get close to a resonance crystal and my teammates even did them all while I was blindly running around but getting the hang of it turned it into probably my favorite mission type alongside the Heartstone. The drillevator is such a fun sequence, seeing the enemies coming down with you while Molley just tries to keep up is amazing and you descend even deeper then what deep dives manage to capture

Cluster Charges on the hurricane is the most fun I've had in DRG in years. That OC is such a blast to useand with the incendiary T5 mod it lights things on fire in a single well place missile detonation which feels amazing to take advantage of with the revolver on a volatile bullets build

I like this season as for once the dwarfs aren’t on the back foot, every other season has been responding to a threat on hoxes but now the dwarfs are “drilling deeper” into all the planet has to offer, which I think is a nice change of story motivation.

This season is actually so insanely good, the season pass and cosmetic tree are way better than previous, the core stone event is awesome, the new mission is one of my favourite missions in the game, and there’s a ton of other QoL changes just cause why not. I genuinely can’t believe we are so fortunate with the devs of this game, such a fresh change of pace compared to the rest of the gaming industry

Excellent Season 5 review video!! Looking at your Legendary badge, I see DRG upgraded the Promotion Tiers, showing how many times you "prestige" after maxing out. I used to use a mod showing this feature, but no one else could see it except me which kinda defeated the purpose. I am sooooo happy GSG finally recognized all of use topped out dwarfs.
