Had this game on my wishlist for a long time. Told my friends about it, the got it instantly and we played all day! We all loved it and had a blast, especially having a good laugh at the bar/dance floor! But I got stuck with picking the driller as my class since my friends took the other first, but I will say I was very surprised at how much I like this class! I love drilling tunnels to other areas or just making an escape route. Reminds me alot of Red Faction, being the only other game I can think of that had this level of environmental destruction. Very surprised how overlooked and underrated this game is, I mean it has overwhelming positive reviews on Steam, which is easily understandable, but this game deserves alot more attention! I can't really even think of any complaints for this game. Although I would love to see hidden cave pockets randomly hidden on every map that contain rare resources or items.

I've been running 22212 on the crspr and 32111 on the subata and the combo seems really strong. You can set larger enemies on fire quickly and they often get feared and turn their weak spot to you; then the subata with it's buffed damage, buffed weak point damage, and buffed damage against burning enemies absolutely melts them.

I thought it would be worth mentioning. With the second tier 5 upgrade, it turns the ECP into a pretty good utility, able to clear out small groups of bugs and mine ore that's out of reach for a driller

Also important mention: You can shoot the secondary fire of the plasma charger to detonate it when needed. You can also use it to clear small chunks of ore in a shot too! Good to get gold on the ceiling.

If you are playing with a team that is able to take care of the heavy bugs for you, i've found going the bonus damage on drills with vampire is extremely strong. Take a cryocannon, freeze a horde of tiny bugs, and then go drill into them. Not only do you get like 40+ HP back, but you shred through swarms with only 3-5 fuel used up. Add in the perks that give bonus damage when you take melee damage, and the "last stand" perk, since if you regain any HP from vampire during the last stand window, you won't actually die.

@@thesmallcheval Iron will was nerfed because of people abusing this. personally i find the berserker perk really good for melee too. it used to be more dmg the lower your health is but with the machine event effect for free (with 4 min cooldown) and a dmg power attack you can shred everything. One thing of note is it says it also boosts melee dmg. axes and drills count as melee.

I really love berserker/vampire on the driller. Makes him so tanky when he's mowing through the hordes of bugs looking to chomp him. Even when berserker is down, with his drills counting as a melee weapon I tend to put the extra damage from it in slot 1, and cooling from hitting enemies in slot 4. Mows through grunts allowing you to keep pushing forward.

Not mentioning EPC mining (with the Thin Containment Field mod) is a pretty big oversight! Most high-level players seem to gravitate towards the EPC over the Subata thanks to the huge flexibility this mod offers, despite the recent changes having wakened the strategy somewhat.

Are we not gonna talk about the fact that the e.p.c gives you the ability to I don't know mine entire minaral veins instantly!! And it can also change the terrain very effectively. I mean yeah it's good at killing but it's just to much mobility to sacrifice for a gun that can barely take out small hordes let alone dreadnaughts,glyphid exploders,any mactara enemy,giant hordes, the wolf spider things and bassicly every thing else.

You didnt mention that if an enemy is frozen by the cryo cannon and then heated quickly with the plasma pistol with the heat perk on t5 they take massive damage, i always do this against armored enemies because it allows me to solo praetorians with ease.

trust me with the plasma charger, you definetly want thin containement field as you can distance mine with it when you manage to hit your own shots in time skyhigh skillkurve but damn the view ontop is rewarding like nothing else

This might be a little late, but thats a specific drop thing for one of the several core matrix infuser events. A nanite bomb dispenser gets dropped in and you have to use it to break through the large tritilyte shard deposit in order to mine it

Beast master was crazy broken before the latest patch (where this was most likely recorded) the pet was never targeted by mobs so it just ran around and ate oppressors in 6 bites. Now it tanks stuff with it´s face though.
