At the age of ten or eleven years , William O. Douglas decided to learn and swim at the YMCA pool because it was only two or three feet deep at the shallow end. He had an aversion to the water but he felt comfortable when he paddled with his new water wings in the water. One day he went to the pool when no one else was there. He was waiting for others to come. Then there came a big bruiser of a boy who picked Douglas and ducked him into the deep end. He landed in a sitting position, swallowed water and went at once to the bottom. Though he was saved, his fear of water intensified after this misadventure.

Sir answer is Douglas refers to the incident at the YMCA swimming pool where he almost drowned as a misadventure . The author was about ten or eleven year old at the time and had barely begun to learn swimming primarily by aping others . As he was thrown suddenly into the water by someone and he couldn't swim he started drowing ❤

The misadventure experienced by the writer of the chapter Mr Douglas inside the water was just like , firstly he was thinking that he would easily come out of the pool by applying pressure on his legs and move upwards , but it results nothing. Douglas felt that he won't be able to come out after so many attempts and he was also very tired, his legs were also hanged like death weights. (All he experienced was the terror/fear of water)

The misadventure did Willian Douglas experience at the pool was that one day he was sitting and wating for others to come for swim,but then a 18 years old bruisher came,picked him up and thrown him into the deep end of water.dauglus thought that when I would reach to the end I will push my legs and come out from water,but after so many attempts also he were not able to come out.then,he stop doing attempts and start feeling that he is in his mother's lap and everything is very peaceful.(this is the terrible moment of his life)...

william dougles went to ymca pool to remove his fear of water (swimming). William dougles was totally filled with fear to swim lonely .So he used to swim with someone . One day, william was waiting for someone to swim with , at at time a bulky man come and push william dougles to pool with 9 feet depth but acoording to him 9 feet deapth equals to 90 feet .His fear of water starts but he thought when he reaches bottom of the pool he jump high to come out of river.But a coindence happen when he reached at the bottom of the pool and jumped high he couldn't able to reach outside the river.He doesn't able to breath as his body fill up with water. Due to his fear his legs were fell so heavy .Than he again tried to came out of pool but again failed .His fear was increasing and he left at the bottom of river.On that day william dougles do not eat food and his fear of water increasing .He stoped to go to fishing , boating etc

As he was thrown suddenly into the water by someone and he couldn't swim, he started drowing. A sudden realization of being thrown into the pool did not make him lose his wits immediately. Although frightened, he thought of a trick to come up to the surface but couldn't execute it successfully. He paincked and feel suffocated by the water. His sense-perceptions gave way, his heart pounded loudly, his limbs became paralayzed with fear, his mind become dizzy and his lungs ached as he gulped water while making desperate attempts to come out of the water. Finally, he lost all his strength and willingness to keep struggling and blacked out. The near death experience of drowing had a very srong impact on his psychology. He was deeply perturbed and shaken by the whole experience.

William was alone at pool he don't wanna swin alone as he's afraid of water then a 18 yrs old boy came he had a mascular body he thrown William into water and said - "Hey skinny" Willam went down in the water he got scared he tried to jump into the water it was 9m deep and for him it feels like 90m deep he jumped and jumped but nothing worked hi's body went numb his heart was pounding he was shaking he wasn't getting O2 and at last he faint hopefully he didn't died People saved him but this was the horrible experience for him
