the tutorial was great but at the end, he mentioned briefly that; if someone wants to slow the thing down they can turn down the fps .. again the tut was not bad but what do you mean to turn down the fps ... that is totally not the way to go if you wanna turn down the speed If you actually wanna slow down your renders. FIRST WAY: You should go to *output properties* and in there go to time remapping and turn down the 'new' thingy which is supposed to be 100 by default SECOND WAY: if your doing rigid body sims and wanna slow down ONLY the rigid body parts (NOT KEYFRAMED ANIMATION AND OTHER STUFF LIKE THAT) , you can go to *scene properties* and in the rigid body world tab just simply turn down the speed. side note: if you're using the 1st way, I would recommend you increase the fps and increase the frames end limit thingy .

is there a way to only break part of the glass and not all of it? For example, make a hole where the object hit but leave the area around it in tact.

You shoot the whole cartridge through the glas, HOW is that possible??? The shell will remain in the rifle or gun and the bullet/projectile (pice of lead) is flying away... nothing else. Because the gunpowder is in the shell to shoot the projectile out of the rifle or gun... just watch a slow motion youtube video about bullet/projectile shooting...

Just the thing I was going to comment on - the whole cartridge flying through the air... It is possible. Air compressor and a pipe will make it fly.... Foolish idea. Its a silly mistake for Deepak to make.

I'm really struggling with hiding the cracks before the impact. Sure I can show the uncracked glass before the impact then hide the visibility afterwards, but in cycles at least, the cracked glass is still visible through the intact glass. Thought I could get round this by hiding the shattered glass fragments up till the moment of impact, but can't apply this visibility change to an entire collection. Any help from the author, or anybody else reading this would be hugely appreciated, because I've spent hours pulling my hair out already.

You can animate collections - Fist right click on the collection and click "instance to scene" , now you can animate it

You actually can, by using collection INSTANCES you can keyframe visibility.

Like it, will try but, one thing... the bullet has the shell when it's supposed to be shot. When you shoot the bullet, only travels the tip and not the whole thing. And the glass breaking it's not fiscally accurate. Anyway, great video!
