Thanks for the video, I was nervous about the 1700 bracket being included but the AK620 arrived today & has the 1700 bracket inside, the white sleeve on the box also has 1700 printed on the back as one of the supported sockets, ordered from Amazon (US) a few days ago.

I was lucky, but please mention up front that you should install the RAM first. This is my first build in 25+ years, and I hope I'm still able to install the SSD after this :(. Yes at least I can remove the fan.

Good instructions, the instructions in the manual were a bit confusing. Happy that my cooler came with the lga 1700 bracket. But my motherboard wont come in until tomorrow so have to wait until tomorrow to install it all. Hopefully it fits my case, looks like its a very tight fit!

While I could've installed the M.2 afterwards, the RAM would NOT have fit, and I would have been quite frustrated with myself for not thinking of that, needing to remove the cooler, reinstall the thermal paste after removing the other paste, etc. So, THANK YOU! 😀👍 Also, this was a great, informative, yet brief video that was perfectly done for helping one to install this cooler. I followed your directions exactly, and it worked great! Thank you! I was considering getting this cooler for my Asus Z90-E board. But this board has a 5th M.2 slot. It´s PCI-E 5.0 and therefore features a HIGH PROFILE M.2 Shield. I´d lke to know if this will make the installation impossible or whether I might have any problem (other than having to reinstall the cooler, should I ever care to populate that M.2 slot). Unfortunately, there´s no compatibility list like Noctua features. It´s been 10 years since my last build. I might be writing nonsense here, but I REALLY can´t tell whether that bulky M.2 shield of the Strix Z790-E would be HIGHER than an RGB RAM module. Neither do I know whether the AK620 might be slightly lower on that particular place. Hence my concern.

Wire insulation usually has a good enough thermal resistance, I think if it got hot enough to melt it, your system will fry and then at that point, who cares about wire insulation lol.

Free mount kit is only available in the states it seems? According to a quick google but it wasn't on a deepcool side. If true kind of sucks :( Also needs proof of purchase which also kind of sucks because I was hoping to buy used for my next upgrade, switching from AMD to Intel

ak620 gets 50°C on a 12700K so it will probably not melt the cable but i still recommend it to wrap around the bottom

Does the bracket orientation on the backplate matter? The part that says Intel is on the RAM side for my install. I wasn't paying any attention since it fit into the holes 😢 and I already have half this thing together.

@@djohardudaev952 I left it. I already had the cooler completely installed and the mobo mounted in the case before I noticed it. Cooling is fine. I don't see a reason to change it at this point. I didn't see anything in the manual either regarding orientation requirements on the backplate. I just assumed if it fit the holes I was good to go 🤷‍♂

I'm doing something similar. I have the fans rotated so the cables are at the top of the mobo and bottom of the fan facing the exit hole and I've also moved the fans so that they aren't covering the RAM. I hope this works 🤞

@@user-jt5cv5hg3n it’s ATX. Motherboard doesn’t matter but the clearance will. For example some mobos have a large heatsink and the AK620 will not fit. And some ram will have a large clearance and the AK620 won’t fit.

Yes, but you can check it yourself by looking for the cpu utilization and the temps with a software called hwmonitor :)

I ordered this cooler with these components: GPU: Gygabite RTX 4070 192-bit 12GB Windforce OC CPU: Intel i7-13700K Motherboard: Gygabite Z790 UD AX RAM: Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 6000 mhz 2x16GB PSU: MSI MPG A850G 850W SSD: Samsung 990 PRO 1TB Case: Sharkoon TG6 RGB ATX Because this CPU cooler is so big and covers the RAM, I decided to buy the RAM without RGB lighting. Also my case has already 3 x 120 mm fan in front, 3 x 120 mm on top and one in the back. Those fans are RGB. Because of this I decided to buy all components without RGB and leave only the fans of the case to make the light. The GPU, of what I've seen, has only a little bit of lighting... It will look nice like this or do you consider it will be better to change before I get the components, to buy RGB RAM, the gaming version of the GPU which has cooler RGB, take out the 3 fans on the top of the case and put a liquid cooler. Please help!

I see, so its okay to manage ng excess wires of the fans like that, i was trying to avoid the wires to touch any parts that might be too hot for the wires like the heat pipes, i was troubled on how to manage the excess wires of the fans

I had to install mine vertically rather than horizontally, the heatpipes overlapped with the top VRM heatsink on my ROG STRIX Z790 H gaming wifi whereas there's about 2mm clearance between the heatpipes and the heatsink just behind the backplate. In this config though the closest RAM slot to the CPU isn't viable so I'm stuck with using two DIMMs max, but that isn't a problem tbf because a 2x32GB kit is enough for gaming easily.

@@yourshotsalwaysmiss yep, if you mount it so the airflow goes horizontal (as usual) then the VRM heatsinks on the mobo and all that "thermal armour" stuff above the CPU socket get in the way of the heatpipes. It fits if you mount it with vertical airflow, but only just.

I did install the thermalright contact frame for my cpu, so maybe that is why? Oh and I used the Dark Zero version of the AK620 as well.

@@yourshotsalwaysmiss Can't have been the same board then, when the cooler is centred on the socket the heatpipes clash with the VRM heatsinks quite prominently (contact frame wouldn't make a difference) so it must be a different mobo.

Can you install this without removing your motherboard? I've got one coming and I think it'd be a hassle to remove the motherboard just to install a cpu cooler :P By the way, I'm using a Lancool.215 case which has a cutout on the backplate.

What did you end up doing? Seeing as how you put the bracket on first, it seems pretty doable. I'd probably get the backplate and bracket secure then flip the computer on its side to do the fan so as not to make a mess with the thermal paste

Remove the plastic protection from bottom of cooler and use the supplied thermal paste.
