He's a positive force who inspires you to be creative just watching video of him. Basically for me, I'm a guitarist. I listen to things he says about how he does this or that. Like in this I caught on to him saying that he created something, then exaggerates it. And that hit with me because I just caught myself figuring that out by myself, trying to create a cool song. I took a riff, reached out to notes that I normally wouldn't think about, and in doing so, made that riff interesting and out of the box. Vai inspires you to step out of the blues scale box.

Musicians make great interviewers, they really bring out the best in artists, instead of the usual fanboy rhetoric, this is the best interview I've seen with Steve Vai. Instead of the god-like posturing that the media feed us he really is a regular dude. I'm definitely more of a fan now, having seen this side of him. Respect to Nikki.

Nikki is a good interviewer, he keeps the show moving along and doesn't get too side tracked.

I used to "dj" at my sons hockey games and when the game was over and people were getting ready to leave, I would always play "For the Love of God" and sometimes people would come over and ask what I was playing and they would say that they never heard it before but its such a beautiful song. It was so cool to reach out and share Steve's music with people that never heard of him. I felt like i made a difference in the world.

OMG totally! I have been binge watching this show since I found it. I wish I had known sooner that this channel existed. I have been a fan of Nikki for years. He always was the articulate one of the Crue band and he seems to have just as much talent for talk radio as he does for writing music!

It's crazy! I've always been into heavy music, but I never liked Motley Crue. I just didn't like their "thing", personality, etc. But I love guitar and Nikki is so positive and has a great personality and he's friends with, like, the coolest people, so I love this show. I'm binging it and I'm gonna be sad when I've watched it all. I'm also surprised that he only has 44K subscribers. That's crazy!

These are 2 great gentleman. I met Steve Vai in England some years ago and he is the nicest guy you will ever meet. Very humble and deep. You can really make a conversation with this guy. No ego there and he is one of the best guitar players out there. I admit I dont know much about Nikki Sixx but he seems really nice too and he presents a great interview/show which I am now a addicted to. Above all that you can tell that these 2 are friends. Mine too! I have been to the Academy and the G4, saw them multiple times each on their own and together on G3. I just have a hard time understanding his comments about hoe Generation Axe is so much more organized than G3. Eric Johnson certainly wouldn't want a different band, neither would John Petrucci. That's what roadies are for and I'm sure they got paid big time because their was not much of a delay between bands. Ever. But whatever. He got it done and it's all good. Love them both to death. Is it me or has he just thrown G3 under the tour bus? He has been on it so many times and called it a mess? I've seen it multiple times and it's been 2 hours of music that is NOT a mess. Guitar enthusiasts have always LOVED it.
@ubatooba84675 жыл бұрын
Saw G3 with Eric Johnson, Stu Hamm, Vai & Satriani......even had Phil Kenealey (Beer for Dolphins) opening up.....and Tony MacAlpine played backup for Steve and did all the harmony parts instead of a harmonizer. That G3 was the shizznit. The other two I saw were not only disappointments....but both were a mess....and a rip off too. Joe & Steve always played flawlessly....every show. I was at the Denver show and that's the one they video'd. The main board blew up at soundcheck and they had an exact replacement rushed in from somewhere. Show started about 1.5 hours late. Sound was sub-par because of it. Yngwie didn't have a singer......so he didn't play any of his classics that had vocals. Yngwie sang some songs....I thought he was trying to save money! He sucked. He smashed a white Squier Stratocaster on stage after using it for one song and threw it into the crowd...about 10-12 feet in front of me. They tried to play Roadhouse all together at the end.....it was a disasterous wank fest. Yngwie's playing was horrible. The G3 DVD isn't the whole concert.....there's a bunch missing. I'll never go to another G3 ever again. Plus YJM cancelled a Denver show (for lack of turn out?) - super weak reason. But yeah.....I fully understand what Steve is getting at.
