I'm a 38 year old dude, but I'm using my mom's Google account to write this comment, so please disregard the name. I met my hero, Slash outside of Irving Plaza in April, 1995. I was a freshman in high school, and Irving Plaza was like 3 blocks away from my school, and I saw that Slash's Snakepit was gonna be playing in a few days. It was a school night and I didn't know if I'd be allowed to go, and I was 14, and shy, and didn't even bother asking my mom if I could go. So I brought a Polaroid camera to school with me, a couple of posters, and a marker. I got out of school at 3, and went to Irving Plaza, and the tour bus had already dropped the guys off. There was a litt,e hang out room above the place and Slash came out the window and said hi to me. It was just me on the street corner. He was peeling an orange and threw half of it down to me to eat. He then threw me a pick and told me to hang on and he came downstairs with Gilby and we took some pics and he signed all my shit.we hung out for like 10 minutes. He was drinking a vodka and cranberry juice. He must have been 29. He then invited me to go with him and Gilby and Matt to Electric Lady studio to hang out before they had to come back to do the show, and I pussied out. Worst decision I ever made. But I was happy to meet them. I still have my pic and my polaroids and the signed poster. He was such a good guy. We're both old now. And I'm sad that be doesn't remember the 90's but I could make him remember by telling him that he was wearing the Tales from the Crypt shirt and smoking Gitanes cigarettes.

The first time I heard Rocks was playing while in a band at age 18. The guitarist was a huge Aerosmith/Derringer/Peter Frampton/Zeppelin fan, and had those albums taped and stapled all over his walls. He was a year younger and knocked me out with his ability to actually play the music from those albums and artists. He went on to have an amazing career in music, and is still at it to this day. Whenever I hear Back In The Saddle, I'm back in that rehearsal room, listening to it played through our PA system speakers, powered by an Altec amp.

Serves her right. She should have known better than to try and touch her idol or their music gear but you often see this even in suburban pub gigs, with people half drunk, holding drinks that could easily spill onto e electronic music gear. Electricity and liquids is not a very safe combination. Or they stand right next to a blasting loud speaker as the band plays and then wonder how come their hearing is shot. I once saw a vocalist stop in the middle of a song to go such up some half drunk jerk Security had not noticed, resting his glass on beer on the band's equipment. He then resumed singing after saying 'Sorry about that in terruption, folks".

I’m so happy I have the time now to hear stuff like this! Like listening to Nikki & Slash now is so much more appreciated bc I’m clean & sober for so many years that it means more. I don’t know, it’s hard to explain but ya, listening to this interview means so much more to me now. Working, going to College & being a weekend warrior was so busy that I didn’t have time for anything else. Being a Teacher it’s like your always continuing education so I barely had time for concerts so that’s what I did. Now, I have more time to listen to this rich & beautiful stuff & still go to concerts! If I have to retire early bc my body can’t keep up w/the daily grind & energy it takes w/20 young children etc... it takes for my profession. A series of really serious surgeries has finally slowed me down to be able to appreciate interviews like this & I’m really diggin’ it!! I saw Slash w/Miles Kennedy & the Conspirators open for Aerosmith in 2014 @ The Gorge Amphitheatre at George, Washington. What an iconic experience!! What’s not to love about the phenomenal & talented Slash & Joe Perry talking w/Nikki Sixx!!! I’m such a guitar & metal fan... this is great listening to these guys just talk about the years & music. I could say so much more but ya, this is great! I can’t believe I’m finding this & Nikki’s not doing the radio show anymore!! Bummed 😞 but I’m really enjoying all these interviews, especially this show! Literally Joe Perry is my favorite guitar player of all time. Aerosmith fan since the ‘70’s 😉 lol My first tat I had inked on my stomach & it’s the Aerosmith logo!! Okay... nuff said... I’m going to listen to this again to hear what I missed while making this comment. Lol, I could say so much more but ya, being clean & sober it’s so much more meaningful to me. I got clean in ‘89 when I chose to have a career Teaching but drinking after work & hittin’ it hard on the weekends it’s like black & white life w/barely any time for the gray areas! Especially after I graduated from college while working full time etc... & now it’s a completely different & slowed down life to snails pace. I love veggin’ out to these interviews!! Sad to learn this is the last show... 😏 but, it’s really great 😎

Wow stumbled across this interview. Was a huge Aerosmith fan but not a GnR or Motley fan until last few years lol. I’m 61. I really love both of these musicians! And Joe Perry!!

I attended the gnr not in this lifetime tour concert in Cincinnati Ohio 2016, it was in my opinion the best show I've seen. I've been to alot of concerts, my first show was white zombie opening for Pantera. I was 14 years old. Gun n roses was the best man. I never thought I'd ever get to see them, bucket list bro!!!

So funny seeing these cats that i knew back in the day in Hollywood, now talking about their houses and cars, guitars and all..My band, Antix played with Slash's band, Hollywood Rose a couple times at Madam Wong's back in the 80's ( where i used to play a Firebird btw ) ..And i also knew Nikki very well back when he was in the band London and then when he put together Motley Crue.. I knew these guys during the struggle years...unfortunately, drugs and alcohol derailed my career...These cats used to come and see me play...and now its sad cause I've reached out to both of them, just to say "hey how u been?"...and never get a response...Anyway, it's good to see that they're alive and well
