I'm a double amputee drummer. I used to drum for the band straight jacket we were pretty big band out of Illinois. We got to open up for Black label society. Best night of my life. Zakk is such a cool guy. And I'm glad I can call him a friend. He waited for us when we were done and you know Zakks a tall guy, and I'm in a wheelchair so it was like he bent over like 30 feet just to get down to get to my eye level. He said the best thing ever said to me, and only to me I might add. he didn't go to any of the other drummers from the other bands. He bent over and he was like dude you beat the hell out of them drums. That's the best compliment ever. And I made a friend that night. To this day when I see zakk,he knows me he he will talk to me. he will come up to me and says hi. shoot he recorded a short video for my son when he was in Iraq.for him and his buddies in his unit. It's on KZbin. My point being Zakk is a honest genuine guy and he really really does care about his fans and his friends. Love you brother zakk. Hey sixx you should have me on your show. I'm a bilateral lower. Limb amputee drummer. Opened for bls, Motorhead, Dope n many others...I'd love to share how I play with the world.... I must be doing something right for zakk to take time to compliment my playing.

I met Zakk last weekend before a show. He’s so grateful for Ozzy and the respect he has for him isn’t just an on camera thing. I told him how much I love No Rest For the Wicked and he turned to the rest of the band and said something along the lines of “it’s so awesome when young kids talk about old music from me and the Boss.” He said how thankful he is that Ozzy saw something in him and gave him a shot. I actually know the guy who came in 2nd to Zakk in auditions. He’s said the same thing about Ozzy and Zakk.

i agree..sometimes psychiatrists give people medications that are suppose to help with depression, anxiety etc and maybe they do but they come with issues of their own such as mind fog, and personality defects. Just a theory as far as the thing with Ozzy,.

Ozzy was diagnosed with some disease similar to Parkinson’s right after the ozzbournes show ended. He has been taking meds and I think had an operation that fixed up whatever his problem was. That’s why he has gotten more and more legible in the years after the ozzbournes. It’s why he doesn’t shake and mumble as much any more. He’s still impossible to understand but it’s way better than when he was fucked up on drugs and booze with a Parkinson’s like condition during the ozzbournes show

I’ve met Zakk several times. One of the coolest guys ever. Randy and Zakk are two of my biggest influences ever as is Ozzy. I agree with them about the recording process. It’s too sterile now. The last major recording I did was done on Pro Tools and the band played live and did minimal overdubs. Those were only adding percussions and little things to add to our tracks. It took us 1 day to record the album and 2 days to produce it then off to master. I was working with incredible musicians and it was the best Recording session I ever had. I run Pro Tools and Logic and refuse to paste. I double my guitar but still play through the entire song.

Damn, met Ozzy back on the Bark At The Moon tour when Motley was touring with him during their Shout at the Devil album tour, waaay back. I am honestly shocked all of these guys are still alive...bottles of JD on stage, they were drunk as hell (but played well surprisingly), they carried Ozzy around like a piece of luggage and he just signed whatever was in front of him at the autograph session, but will give him credit for being friendly and loving my friend's sketch of him she did, said he was going to hang it in his home.

I'd want to hear the small stuff stuff..for example (..and I'm making up fictitious events), 'Hey Mick, what were you really thinking when I fell off of the stage in 84 at the 2nd Montreal show?' ...I just think that it would be super rad to hear long time band mates talk about thing that they never discussed. Like, to hear what Nikki thought about after they found Mick in such rough shape before they really put the band back into overdrive and took over the world again. ..Nikki has made it very clear that he has a super deep respect for Mick as both a person and a player. I also feel that from the Carnival tour and on, the guys really tried to protect Mick. It was touching to witness..

i know a chick that works at the bar of a venue where BLS played last year. he said Zakk literally said hello to every person in the room before soundcheck saying thank you for being there. people say he's a great guy and I totally believe them.

These people will never know the struggles that u had to go through and its sad that these people in the music industry would even compare the hardships. Even considered irresponsible I've lived my whole life according to all the legends. As people call people haters now their just jealous that there life will never hold the kind of excitement that will give you a whole new look at life. Thank you for continuing in your profession and know that the die hard fans that can't be bought by todays media will always look forward to anything you do.
