This video is old but I wanted to join the conversation because the exact scenario happened to my family! My grandpa was married to my grandma for like 40 years, it should’ve been a divorce, but they were catholic and couldn’t do so. It was a very unhappy marriage and they were waiting for each other to die. My grandpa had a girlfriend for multiple years and my mom and siblings (they were in their 30s and 40s) knew about it. Some agreed with it, some didn’t. When my grandpa passed away, the girlfriend came to the funeral and my mom ran her out. He was in his late 70s or so when he passed. But it’s insane that that same scenario happened to my family.

Sometimes clients don’t want to listen. They don’t want to lose their “long hair” knowing it’s damaged. As a stylist, I’m quick to tell a client no. At the same time, I’m not desperate for money. We don’t know what type of conversation she had with the stylist who did her color. I always ask clients when was the last time they had their ends clipped. I’m not scissor happy so they allow me to clip their ends. I had a client who was getting braids from me. At the time, I was in Cosmetology school. She had a jherri curl. She wanted to get a relaxer and I told her not to because she was attached to her hair. I told her to continue to get braids, let her hair grow out and cut the jherri curl out little by little. Nope! She went to a salon and got her relaxer done by a “Licensed Cosmetologist!” She wanted that relaxer so bad that she got it done anyway. She had to come back to me with extremely damaged hair. Her hair fell completely out. I had to charge her extra because I had to do treatments to try to save what little hair she had left. I’m Licensed now so I don’t have a problem saying no or firing clients.

Also, to add to the discussion, who cares if the girlfriend comes to the funeral. It's not her fault he knew he was married, and it's not the wifes fault, she stayed. These were his actions not the womens. Women are usually the ones with humility and a militant love and protection for their families. With how this society(male driven) is setup, nobody(mostly men) can find everything in one person nor are they satisfied. Of course let her stay or attend. He ain't here no more to lie to the both of you. We women are told to be happy with what we have. Men aren't told that. So they always go at life with options even if he is a POS. We look in the mirror and see flaws, and don't let us have a cheater for a spouse we really will start making crazy decisions based on their actions. Like blasting him out and telling everybody your business, cut hair off, and lashing out at everyone and punishing the next person. But let a man look in the mirror. That dude sees a Greek God. A man everyone wants to be and every woman wants to be with. Now give him a idea he has "options". He will fuck up his life and yours just pursuing those "options". In summation, she(the gf) might have a different perspective of the man you knew as a husband. But getting through the devastating news, heartach, embarassing misdeeds of someone you loved and disregarded love and trust makes this happening that much more difficult to get past and be an adult and process this in a logical way. The loss might bring the distracting rage. He chosed to do what he did and now the woman has to be more mature than him even though she was the faithful one. This decision separates the women from the girls. If you are a woman, holding your head up high won't be an issue. Having an ego and pride when someone cheats is useless if you stay. This is a truly humbling situation. And forgiveness is only for those with true virtue. Let no one take your virtue it's precious. It is not only your attitude but it's your choice. Not letting someone take away your choices with rage and a knee jerk reaction is in itself, a virtue. If you a good person, be a good person not just to the few who don't hurt you but even the ones that do. That's how we grow, forgive and change for the better.

My grandma was “dating” this guy for 20 YEARS and he told her the he had divorced his wife. After he died my grandma found out that he had lied and she basically wasted 20 years of her life and now her own house is in jeapordy because of this situation. His wife knew but didn’t say shit.
