@laurenr96595 жыл бұрын
@@ninanano I've done like, the bare minimum of research and have found that it's just part of being a curly queen. They say keeping your hair moisturized can help but there's not really a way to prevent them ☹ fortunately they form at the end and can easily be removed with regular trims.
@KinkssNCoilss5 жыл бұрын
nadine The best way to keep them at bay is to keep your hair stretched, particularly if you have a kinkier texture. When you let curly/coily/kinky hair draw up, it will inevitably tangle up on itself and the strands will loop over on themselves and form knots. That said, I don’t think they are 100% avoidable with natural hair. You just have to take steps to limit the amount.
@AZ-qx1xd5 жыл бұрын
From my experience 1. Don't glide your fingers over your individual strands . I used to do this whole studying, when applying product , when finger combing (I don't do that anymore).. (like the women getting her hair done did in the begin in of the video) 2. Wash your hair in a protective style if possible (twists or braids )

As a natural I'm constantly getting single strand knots. I get my hair trimmed and they come back how can we prevent them? I cant retain length for constantly cutting my hair to get rid of them. Help!
@mia4resto5 жыл бұрын
Personally, the only way I kept them at bay was basically keeping my hair stretched 95% of the time. I don't stretch by means of heat, except a few times a year when I'm going to flat iron, or just want a blown out look. Outside of that, I do twist outs or having my hair in small two strand twists. To reduce breakage, if I do twist outs, I don't mess with my hair every night. I'm a lazy natural, so each style needs to last AT LEAST a week. So I'm bunning it if it's looking crazy after a few days. I have 4c hair through and through, and this cut down on single strand knots DRAMATICALLY. I silk pressed my hair last week after 5 months and had less than 10 knots. I NEVER let my hair dry/shrink in it's natural state, and I ALWAYS wash in twists. I hope this helps!

They can become a problem when your growing your hair past it’s plateau length. Plateau meaning no matter how you take care of your hair it’s only genetically designed to strong at a specific length
@sweetexorcist73225 жыл бұрын
People don’t realize when your attempting to grow your hair past it’s strongest point (plateau length) you end up making your hair weaker because your trying to match your new length with an already weak point of your hair!
@sweetexorcist73225 жыл бұрын
purpleurple191 the surefire way to fix this issue is to go to a professional stylist (unless you already are one) and get a precision cut to determine your plateau length! Go to a stylist that will give you a good 15-20 minute assessment of your hair during the consultation, if that stylist isn’t doing that leave and find one who will!

Hi can someone explain the extra step of wrapping the hair and covering it? Ps Your work is beautiful and your voice is lovely!

When you comb the hair around your head it naturally helps to maintain the original body and bounce from the fresh salon look since it’s being shaped by the round-ness of your head. So the advantage there is you won’t need to use heat again to recreate that look. As for covering it, it helps to retain moisture in the hair follicles since they’re not being dried out by the air. Your natural body heat from your scalp will allow the moisture from the original products used to penetrate and stay in the hair shaft so you won’t need to reapply moisturizing products.

@@RayneyKayLa exactly! They don't need to retain moisture, they don't require the same oils, nor do they need to wrap their hair for body and bounce 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I really want a silk press, but so worried about heat damage. 3C natural, wearing it curly 99% of the time. What to do?!

What’s the difference between natural and very very natural🤔😂 As always this silk press came out beautiful. I’m glad she thoroughly explained what all was going on with her ends and why she trimmed the amount she did. Makes perfect sense.

Just my thoughts: Natural...Heat trained hair that is natural, but mostly or most often worn straight. It's the natural without chemicals or the straight without chemicals. Just products, blow drying and/or pressing. Straight styles last longer because the hair is more trained. Natural/ natural or really natural is a person who has little to no heat during their journey. The occasional blow out or press. The straight style may not last as long. I could be wrong. I'm just guessing.

I got fairy knots no matter what. I would just trim every 8 weeks. Nothing worked to stop them but keeping my hair braided.
