Deepfake AI, have we crossed the line?

In the Star trek DS9 episode 'In pale moonlight' they explore the issue of human moral, deepfakes and the manipulation of another government. It was the best star trek episode ever made, didn't think it would be relevant in that way, so soon.

That also reminds of the scene from Terminator 2 where the T-1000 kills the parents and both Terminators imitate the voices. And the T-1000 also makes real-live deepfakes with its liquid metal body. Skynet is getting closer and closer. There is a lot of potential here, but unfortunately also very easy to use for negative purposes. Phone calls in particular are extremely easy to fake and can cause immense damage. You will absolutely not be able to tell the difference between people you don't talk to every day. All functions that imitate persons simply have more negative potential than positive.

Haha thanks Murray, new mic, I've also put up floor to ceiling curtains behind the camera to finally get rid of the majority of the reverb. Glad it sounded good, what's worrying is that to me it doesn't sound any different to previous ones!

@@Neil3D it definitely sounds much improved at my end, would be interesting to hear if others experience similar. Divinci Resolve (Fairlight) has an audio AI tool that can correct and improve audio. Do you run your mic through a Scarlett Focusrite audio interface?

I was having the same conversation with my friends using the same clip of Asmongold. I also pointed out to them how another streamter (Atrioc) got in trouble for watching deepfake porn of other female streamers. All this is easily dismissed as streamer/gamer nonsense but the power of this technology is incredible and it's JUST getting started.

Yea the thing is it's just the streamers/gamers making a mockery & joke out of it for now, they jump on this stuff early, but the people who created the tech and will ultimately market it will want this to reach far further than that bubble.
