I’m sure for drill purposes he was going to show an example and Drew didn’t want to take away from the purpose of the drill by going into minutiae. But players make sure you are using your offhand combatively to swipe away the hands of the pressure when dribbling up the court in the drill at 11:10.

Typically, people use multiple balls to prepare for neuromuscular overload present in games. It allows one to develop feel and be more focused on higher level tasks such as reading and reacting.

I’ve only watched until 1:25 for now; I disagree with you saying doing all those extra stuff don’t translate. I get your point, but at the end of the day only those with good handles can do that three-ball-dribble. You may not be using three balls at once in a game, but knowing these things just makes you more familiar with the ball, makes your handles and the feel of the ball in your hands a lot better

They use other materials to challenge themselves with using their off hand, really challenge themselves to make the crossovers smooth, and make the practice harder than the game which allows them to be more subconscious in their reactions.

@shibasalute
@shibasalute 2 жыл бұрын
But if you're a beginning or intermediate player, two ball dribbling drills can help you keep your eyes up and your mind focused, which is important. You also develop a good touch on the ball and learn to trust your handles. You can't be effective in a game if you're constantly looking down watching yourself dribble.

The tennis ball is to improve your dribble for one hand. Eg if people are guarding your shooting hand/ main dribble hand so you can still create space.
@club6525
@club6525 3 жыл бұрын
Typically, people use multiple balls to prepare for neuromuscular overload present in games. It allows one to develop feel and be more focused on higher level tasks such as reading and reacting. I don’t think it’s really for creating space because even if you can create space, you still aren’t a good player. A good player is able to know when to create space and when to pass or the proper reads.
