Everyone is in shock that a Sham like this again could still occur in the Pinball World. Very sad to the investors who were hoping for a place in a new Revolutionary Pinball Company.

Saddest part of Deeproot dying is they actually had a Homebrew production model. It was total baloney, but having a company actually open to manufacturing homebrews was an enticing dynamic to the industry if it came to fruition. Imagine if all the garage designers actually got fair shots to get their dreams fulfilled. AP could still try out homebrews, but it seems like they are more desperate to get their mainline games going.

@@IanJacobyandcompany well, actually I agree with you there. It's been a bit shocking to be honest the way a lot of the 'influencers' who gave DR a voice and weren't stronger in their condemnation (which is fair enough at the time btw) but then came out afterwards and said 'see, I told you so!'.

Being on the losing end of this for a mere deposit I'm glad you brought up the investors who got completely screwed. My wife went through the complaint and was mortified by this duechebag. Also to note its just not RM listed in the complaint but also his family members. The time talk you about him is during is eventual conviction and sentencing when criminal charges are filed. Still enjoy and I would like to hear all opinions from last year. Thanks

when i saw last year's factory tour overview on TWIP, and wasn't thinking about where deeproot's money was coming from, i figured deeproot was inevitably going to fail sooner rather than later, but just due to bad business planning. i saw Rob Mueller as a guy who wanted to make games but was childishly clueless about the business of it. (like, inconsequential as it was... why the FUCK would anyone savvy with pinball mechanics try to make a commercial adaptation of Space Cadet, let alone have it NOT LOOK OR SOUND LIKE SPACE CADET by using a new theme) but damn, the revelation of the whole thing being funded by Mueller's fraud was a real kick in the crotch. seems pretty clear that whole event was a desperate attempt to appear to have been busy ...and hey, about that one rant: yeah, thinking about the loss of a game deposit over the loss of vulnerable people's financial security *is* gross, but the fact of the matter is, people are going to prefer discussing pinball on the pinball forums (as opposed to financial investments), and i don't think that warrants a "fuck you" so much as it warrants a gentle reminder / education on the facts.

I love your channel but I pray this is the end of the DR talk. The people that follow this company, it’s almost cult-like. Maybe it’s a Texas thing? No offense but I never understood the obsession from the beginning. In other news I’m bummed that Jeff Patterson had to shut down TWIP over this. He took money from Robert and I think he’s terrified that he might be implicated in the investigation. That’s a shame he was a nice go to source for Pinball information.

I get this, but it’s unfair to say this like we knew our paychecks were coming from scammed money. Many of us had a hunch something odd was going on as no reasonable investor would burn this much money but what could we do? We mostly assumed these investors knew they were investing in pinball, but didn’t know how much of a dumpster fire it really was. We didn’t suspect that Robert was paying for pinball with stolen money, just bad investment money. Also a lot of people have left the company long before we got to this point. Robert is getting what’s coming to him all on his own.
