9:11 Yes, every guard type enemy is pretty weak... except for those diver journeymen they do not mess around- And this makes a lot of sense, since guards at Etris and Summer isle are mostly used to handling lowly things like bandits. While the divers are much more experienced to handle the dangers and monsters of the depths.

I don't see how the Canor one makes sense, just because they are majority on the Authority doesn't means canors who are not alligned with the faction can't ""betray"" it. From what I recall, their loyalty is portrayed like the bound humans has with dogs, meaning Canors are the "best friends of the Adrets" (who would be the humans in deepwoken). This is why they are also a majority in the Authority, but the loyalty would only work towards allied adrets or something like this, is not like they were born to serve the Adrets. Also I'm pretty sure the faction with most Canors is the Ignition Union (although the guard npcs at minor's landing can spawn with any race obtainable, most of those who have unique interaction are canors).

The thing in Deepwoken is that you don't get stronger by guarding or training really. You get stronger by running around and fighting shit. If you want to get stronger faster? You fight even stronger shit. Those progs that take 4 hours also require the player to kill a ton of powerful creatures by virtue of having knowledge from PREVIOUS INCARNATIONS. The guards don't fight anything but BANDITS. And even then they die quite often. The guards are at a good level of strength relative to their environment. The player character is the outlier here. If we wanted the guards to be actually strong, think of how long it takes for a true beginner of a game to max out everything on their character, as well as have a good mantra setup and weapon. They wouldn't be guarding anymore, they'd be out adventuring for like a year to five years before being able to actually guard anything. And they are extremely likely to die multiple times on said adventure. It's simply not worth it.

Pyre Keeper coming out with 5 crits and a new flame despite flame not needing it for lore reasons Vs. Stormseye getting gutted on an attunement with 3 whole talent trees (one being a path and cancels the other tree) and has been nerfed for a move that barely justifies a nerf and has signifigantly less build options + has lore that is irrelevant because they'd rather make league of legends the gamemode

The towns in deepwoken should take notes from Duke Erisia he has turrets, an acid cave, golems and a teleporter before you even get to his manor. While the factions have like 12 guards that are slightly above bandit level.

@@Reaconteur Also, just so this doesn't spark any more confusion, silentheart doesn't necessarily refuse the song, but rather it's abuse and the way it's twisted. Even when looking at the dreadstar's dialogue, it kind of feels like it's against attunement users, and not the song itself, so while it says that it deafens the song, it might just deafen the twisted, impure and abused version of the song that are attunement, hence why we are still able to use bells and murmurs, which are purer versions of the song. Is it poorly explained? es. Could this be wrong? Yes. is this the best explanation we have? I think so.

Something that I thought would be pretty cool is like whenever you reach 100 will power or for whatever psychopath runs 100 int you gain perspection of the veil thats being cast around etris. Additionally you can see faint signs of strings attached to the Npc's and yourself when you enter. Plus just a cool little conversation with the lord regent where after you do the duke quest while he still kills you he asks if you can see/perceive the veil before saying interesting then using judgement.

Maybe there's some lore version of levels, and most NPCs are hard capped to a certain level, dependent on bloodlines and races n shit, and some have higher level caps like others, the player being one of those characters with a higher innate level cap, that being power 20

To be fair about the Scion of Ethiron compared to other enemies thing, its more just it being a game. If you can give me an exception then go ahead but I'll use GOW and Elden Ring to make sense of this. Kratos can die to regular enemies despite being the strongest so far. Like random Draugr in Give Me God Of War can mess him up. In Elden Ring, you could be killing demigods which is the whole plot and then die to a bleed dog and die instantly which in lore is definitely weaker. Still funny though, that thing you said about the mechs and Scion

Have you ever wondered why player characters are even fighting, why should they leave Etris, why are they adventuring to the most dangerous island across the luminants? I don't know, no one knows, there is absolute nothing for us to fight for, our characters don't try to discover who they are, who they were, who they will be. They know Erisor guy, but we don't get anything to do with that information. We are drowned, we are special, we have a DEEPWOKEN talent tree, but still nothing.
