First reason: instruments. You dumb fr, these are simple instruments, not songchanted and you can't chant them, cause you are weakling and not a God. Second about shroom race. frostdraw is frozen ether the song is NOT present in everyone (hence lightkeepers) the instruments thing is a somewhat valid argument, but i have 2 different explanations 1. in one of the lore books, a bard accidentally sets their violin on fire at the start of the canticlysm by using the song. if we focus on not channeling any actual ether into it, we can play instruments normally 2. what naktigonis says goes (he literally creates the song) about ironsing. think about how convoluted some of the mantras for ironsing are, and you'll start to realize why it's more industrial you're completely, 100% missing the actual lore of celtor's drowning. sure, they were a greedy city, but it was the ministry intentionally overusing the song to sacrifice the island to yun'shul, they just chose that island because it was big and it was corrupt. it isn't the tides that make decisions, it's the drowned gods like yun'shul that control the tides. it wasn't a big wave that took celtor, it was the celtorian horror, a gigantic sea monster that swallowed the island and dragged it to the first layer yes, you can absolutely overuse the song, that's why we can only use small mantras of it instead of just chanting it for a minute straight and causing huge destruction with the song the mecha sharkos are ignition union, not hive the reason the hive is more advanced is because they've been focusing on ways to rise above the tides, not simply survive among them plasma is the fusion of fire and lightning, like arcwarder dawnwalker is an imitation of lightkeep specialized for combat, not plasma thanks for reading my rant about everything you got wrong i guess

1. every attunement is conjured from ether. do you think they make flames by just... thinking warm thoughts? they make tornadoes appear by breathing? they make lightning strikes at will by rubbing two balloons together? the storm blades description literally says "Conjure weapons of thunder with your ether." 2. you're literally proving my point by acknowledging that there are people without the song in them. seriously, what were you thinking? 3. instruments are stated NOWHERE to be nukes. the one instance we have of a normal instrument causing a magic effect is a single violin catching on fire. that's it. the reason bells are powerful is because it's your soul perfectly aligning with the song itself. 4. the ironsing complaint isn't even about lore, it's about game balance. getting several metal rods stuck in you and pulled out over and over will definitely kill you 5. all water is controlled by yun'shul. there is no 'water that isn't controlled by the drowned god that controls water.' also, there's a big difference between swimming in water and trying to waterbend. 6. no, you can't. you can say individual mantras, but those take up to ~7 seconds at max to cast (flame ballista), not a whole minute for a single spell. 7. they don't struggle with it, everyone just knows that if they overuse the song, the gods will punish them

People who say “ohhh instruments would let you call six notes of the song” fundamentally miss-understand how the song in deepwokens world as a system(which is incredibly washy with how it was written admittedly). Sure if a drowned gods were to start a band they’d be able to use that many notes of the song (they literally control it as their birthright) but if you were a normal goon trying to use a guitar this flat out just wouldn’t happen, the bell is literally your soul’s resonance with the song taking physical form as a bell hence letting you play a single note of the song. Picking up an average run of the mill instrument is not gonna let you channel several notes if the song at once, that’s dumb. My theory with the song is that its a cosmic force of some kind that is within deepwokens universe and allows certain people in deepwokens universe to use magic or attunments, and mantras are mantras when it comes to music, to make it simpler in a tier list kinda way, mantras are sounds, bells or resonances are singular notes of the song, if you are much more powerful with using the song you can play multiple notes. btw instruments of the song would be able to play multiple notes which would be better than bells, if you ate a piece of a drowned god and you are a deepwoken another theory is that you can a measure of the song which is like a section of a song in music. So to conclude my theory, the universe of deepwoken is a song itself and everybody who has attunements and bells when they use them are playing notes and stuff but the music sheet is like 1000 pages long or more so thats why it never ends. also the only time the world ends is when all of the drowned gods awake not just one or more it has to be all for the world to end. One last thing is that drowned gods have a lot of song related power and in the real world would be composers in a way or professional music players and thats why whenever you are near one the amount of song power they radiate could make your head pop.

1. To be fair, that's the equivalent of a nerf gun. You're not using magical song instruments, you're just using some handmade instruments put together. 1.5 BRO, you can't just enchant an instrument and cause it to be an instrument of the song. If laplace could make basic drums into song imbued drums, hive would literally STOMP over the world of deepwoken. Enchants aren't pure song bro. 2. You can't ask Yun Shul to wake up goofball, you NEVER talk to Yun Shul, to talk to a shrine that functions as a telephone between his power and you, the Yun Shul shrine doesn't grant ANYTHING, but that logic we can ask him to make us into god. 3. Frostdraw isn't frozen water, it's temperature decreasing, there is ice that exists that isn't water aswell, one example is dry ice. 1.1 Noise doesn't immediatly mean it's magical song, the deepwoken magic song isn't just noise. 4. This is the part of deepwoken where the devs DID bend the lore for gameplay purposes, ironsing users actually need metals to use their magic, but for gameplay reasons we just summon metal instead of needing to carry it. 5. Brother there's no mystery to the game if we have all the answers, we don't know how the Ministry sinks islands. 6. Lorewise the depths is meant to be scary, getting sent down to depths is meant to be alot scarier and not just a cheat code, nobody is meant to have the knowledge of like 600 other past dudes. Every single character we make we're meant to have the knowledge of a new player. One thing I can agree with you is that deepwoken doesn't have a consistent source where the lore actually comes from, 99% of the time Arch Mage is gonna be right since he has a lore document, but there's no good consistent source for normal players.

The common misconceptions of the Song is its Literally a Song but nope it's just Magic thats Called the Song notes don't actually have power you have to imbue them with Magic first (The song) for them to actually do something like how you can get bells. Song = Magic Attunement = Element's Deepwoken lore books explain alot about the drowning and honestly some of the books are pretty cool

i briefly talked with arch about water magic, and brought up a (still valid) point about how we have not only an attunement but also an oath directly linked to air/wind/gales, yet L2's whole killing wind gimmick and Ethiron still exist, so why can't we control water? L3 is fire/lava and Korilfiend is literally the lava serpent nut we have thos epowers and thats not worldbreaking He kind just said "the ocean is the closest thing to killing mankind so its uncontrollable" I really can't lie here I think he made that up on the spot

Oh yeah let's not forget they haven't actually added the most important lore npcs/characters since the faction with the most connections towards the entire lore of the game and the reason everything is going down in the first place barely has any lore. I'm talking about the voidwalker race (Yes it's actually a race they are called voidspawns.) The knives of eylis, and the ministry. Also last but not least it isn't really mentioned but felinors are naturally intelligently superior than every other race to the point they were the ones who made most of the weapons, equipment, hell even attunements you find and use in game and the whole reason every race canonically hates felinors (Yes they actually do canonically hate felinors) is because one family called the Calicos aka the black cat variant calicos were the cause of the tides or something, let's not forget two calico members Aelita Calico (Shown in game at the top of ministrya as a phantom illusion) and her brother are voidwalkers with her brother being able to manipulate time. Yeah deepwoken lore is pretty all over the place, I mean with all the time manipulating bs with amoorus pleetsky being a normal mortal then becoming a drowned god, then appearently spreading a religion to chaser killing off everyone in his squad because a voice from a prophet in the ministry told him to. Yeah I don't really know man.

4:15 Celtor was greedy and corrupt, but that's not the reason it sunk. They were just genuinely unlucky to have been a target of the Ministry. Yun'Shul themselves (he's an amalgamation of souls) confirms that "godseekers" sunk Celtor. 2. The Drowned Gods didn't give them the song, people discovered it on their own. It's just that it was used too much, which led to the Drowned Gods stirring in their sleep. 3. The Ministry brought about the Celtorian Horror, which is apparently a giant sea monster that was seen by some officials before they fled. As to how the Ministry did it, I'm not even sure, but they do have a Deepwoken leading the entire Ministry. It's even funnier because Yun'Shul called Celtor a "paltry offering" but more than our kind usually amounts to.

i agree with some stuff, the only lore thing that ever bothered me were changes to knives of eylis. Specifically why the hell would an assassins faction target one another, like that wouldnt be smart for business. And the idea that has been played around with a bit that voidwalker shouldnt kill targets anymore instead theyd be rewarded only for knocking them since it makes the new player experience better. I mean i get it bet then its not really the knives of eylis, Its the fuckin debt collectors at that point just whooping ass for fun

other comments explain most of the things you got wrong but for everyone asking about lore breaking builds like contractor and gran sudaruska, or how we even obtain these weapons in the first place, myabe its just that in the lore we will never wield these weapons or have these abilities put together, the only weapon i can see us using in the lore is a curved, railblade, maybe even a hero blade. but our ability to be able to put lore breaking mechanics together, think of it as the lore turned into a battlegrounds game, we will never have this stuff but we are allowed to use it in game simply as game mechanics/gameplay

iirc the reason water magic isn't possible is because its the strongest attunement in the lore, and only extremely powerful beings have the ability to use it. We play as mortal beings that arent strong enough to manipulate it, and even if you did learn it a requirement of it is to be completely insane and lose your humanity. As for the ice attunement argument, yeah thats fair.
