We hangouts high and the deer still look up at them ams are nervous. It’s all about how long the feeder is in that spot . The longer the feeder is there the more they get used to it and comfortable with it .

Exactly what I’m doing next year. Mature deer are definitely leery of these feeders.

IDK...i hung mine 7 foot off ground in a single tree in a open field...deer stand under it waiting for corn to be released....

Right!!! That's what they do in GA.

Instead of wrapping around tree couldn't you drill 2 big hooks linear of each other and the one on the bottom installed upside down...kind of like a boat rope wind hook but larger for a chain?

Wish Missouri would allow us to use Deer feeders during Deer session. We can’t even put out corn pile’s during Deer session. No rumors have it we can’t use salt blocks anymore.

If you keep it out all year they’ll get use to it

*This is bit of a pain to set up🍇 **allabout.wiki/Hunter** Pro though I understand why all the pieces make shipping and packing more efficient. The instructions were clear and set up took me about 45 minutes. Everything uses wingnuts, so not tools are required unless you are mounting cameras on the lid. You do need a 6v battery (I had one). The feeder is easy to program and seems quite rugged. I am 6'0" and I can easily open and fill this feeder, which is great.*

Live in Maine and the state don't allow baiting. Suck but that's the state.

What about bears getting to it?
@arkansasadventures3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have bears where I hunt, so I can’t attest to how they hold up with bears.

I hunt in central Arkansas. I have been thinking about this for awhile and stumbled across this video. Seems like deer are more worried about what they see, not so much about what they hear. When they see and hear it they are GONE! Did you have luck with this? Thanks in advance👍🏻
@arkansasadventures6 жыл бұрын
nitroman1999 the feeder trick seems to be working, but the property is difficult to hunt. That place is at the edge of a massive hardwood forest. It seems like the deer just move around in the woods without a pattern. I’ve had some great bucks show up under the feeder several times, but they haven’t been consistent yet there or anywhere else.

Arkansas Adventures thanks for the reply. I hunt on a lease in Malvern Arkansas, about 30 minutes south of hot springs Arkansas. I’m glad to know you have seen bucks underneath the feeder. Seems like on our lease the bucks stay clear of feeders. I’ll try and report back after the 2018 season with how it worked for me👍🏻

my feeder is loud. you think that freaks them out?
@arkansasadventures3 жыл бұрын
It definitely could. The goal is to try and keep everything as natural as possible, which is why I get the feeder out of eyesight. If it is loud, you can try setting the timer for a time when deer aren’t as likely to be active. For instance, if you expect deer to show up the last hour of daylight, then set your feeder to go off 3 hours before dark.

I'd be more concerned with the scent of that dog.

Hunting over bait isn't much of a sport or challenge

That's why I hunt with my bare hands after walking 300 miles to the hunting area.
