Don’t be afraid to make different hunting spots on the property, depending on the weather and wind it’s practical so have different spots. And if the farmers don’t cut their crop the bucks tend to stay there.I know it’s frustrating at times but this will make you an expert hunter. I find these hard season make valuable lessons. There’s always next year. Good luck

Heidi, I live on a square mile of land. Deer, some nights, bed down behind my house, out of the wind. I've taken pictures, sitting in my truck at 5 in the afternoon, of deer within 10 ft of me (in my driveway) and they never noticed me. Been standing in the yard and had them get as close as 40 ft....BUT, when I walk out with a gun, I NEVER see EVEN ONE!😏😁😄 BTW, that is a really neat little toaster oven/cooktop/ coffee maker! Nice retro look.

Focus on your first passion. Making your lures. They are good, find a way to produce more at low cost but quality at its best. It's big money in that field. Try. Metal casting tins too. Also, Buzz baits. They are deadly for huge bass, try them, and come out with some.

I know that the day is already over and gone by the time you put this video out but it would still be a good day to go scouting like you were originally planning. Rainy days or right after it quits raining is the best time to do some in season scouting because everything is wet so you can move around quieter and you won't leave as much sent as if it was dry

Hi Heidi, You put a big smile on my face after being them still excited from seeing those bucks. I could hear you breathing hard when trying to stock them. Very funny in a good way! I haven't hunted dear in years living in Idaho I hunt for elk. Thats not to say if a really nice buck comes my way I will take him. This happened to me two years past, ti was a 4 point, you would call him an 8 point back east, lol. It always happens that you come across the nice ones when you are separated from your weapon. Good luck, I hope you take him or another bigger. A fan of yours!

I gave up on the "war paint" back in the '90's. I wear a mesh camo hood. Very effective. Finished with Thanksgiving dinner about an hour ago. I'm reminded of the Johnny Cash song, "I hurt myself today"! I shot 2 deer last week, a buck and a doe, and I'll be processing deer tomorrow. I already processed 8 deer hocks for deer jerky. Most people throw those away. But there's good jerky meat there. I try not to waste any meat. Yes, it's time consuming and generally a pain in the neck. But, the effort is worth it.

When I used to live in a small city at the edge of a wooded park, my apartment complex had some crab-apple trees and the deer would come to eat from them right under my window every night in mid to late fall. It's probably good to keep in mind the different possible food sources that can attract them across the seasons.
@smiley19492 жыл бұрын
If you can buy some bags of peanuts, deer should go crazy for them. They do here in Texas. Also, bags of feed corn. You have to give some, to get some. Put the peanuts or corn where you can get a clean shot within range. Be quiet!!! Shake out a pound or two, just to get started. Make them come to the treat, if you want venison to eat. The bucks watch the does & spikes to see what's happening first, before they make a move. Good luck!!! You can do it!!!
