I have literally been waiting all day for this! Thanks red. What you did with that little buck is EXACTLY how newer hunters learn how to "read" wildlife and how to understand them. Do the same with turkey! If you ever loose that adrenaline rush and excitement for the hunt, it is time to give it up. As Uncle Ted would say "Wack em and stack em"!

Dear Heidi If your processor offers it ask him to hang your deer in his cooler for at least a week but not longer that 2 weeks before he processes it. The difference in taste is amazing. This is why we do it at home now because most deer processors have limited room and they are interested in getting them out as fast as they get them in and dont allow them to hang very long. My 2 cents

Congratulations!! It is about all the pre-assesment, hours of preperation and on and on. But when it all comes together, some say right place right time. I say luck. The crossroads of preparedness and opportunity. Therefore no need to explain the lack of footage. You were focused on the meat. It is natural to have reaction afterwards, it is not a thing to take lightly. Death is still death, but in death there is life. Nutrition, recollection, and thankfulness with celebration. Not just for hunting but for us too. We are predators. We are foragers, we hunt and without our primal instincts we are and become death. Sorry I have to male it a mental thing for those who dont understand hunting!!! Nice buck Lil' Red!!

@@mr.potter9426 I struggle with damaging and pulling James River fish out of the water. I typically only venture into fishing when I know I could eat what I catch. I won't eat anything from that river, or most anything from fresh water for that matter. Fish in the James already have so many other factors working against their survival that I feel guilty damaging them and then throwing them back. City of Richmond was just cited and fined for dumping raw sewage again. Forget the Keypone and industrial waste, the human waste will kill us all faster. It would be nice to fish the James, but it's some of the worst water quality in our state. It's my back yard, almost literally, but I still drive 50 minutes to get to at least Yorktown and fish salt water instead. I have friends who live on the James and pull Striper out every season, but I avoid freshwater catches in VA. I've got enough Croaker, Spot, Spanish Mack and Trout in the freezer so I can enjoy fish tacos all winter... but this whole species targeting thing in the Chesapeake has been an incredible learning experience. If I had to pay for charters, I'd have spent $9,000 on catching nothing, and I didn't... so I'm very grateful for failing so far.

@@Jafromobile I live in Kentucky now, close to the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers,o understand about water quality, believe me this place is a mess too, damn Asian Carp have invaded everywhere, even Kentucky Lake not to mention the parts per million lists...I use to live in Newport News, went to Warwick, use to know and fish all of Tidewater, I miss the old days there for sure, best of luck, hope you land a giant!
