I feel ya. Colorado to me has been hugely discouraging, Maine hasn't treated me much better the last 9 years. Hopefully this week things change. I'll be out there in the rain in the morning.

Change, it’s the only thing you can count on, and of course it’s always for a reason. It’s just a case of remembering what your “ prototype” for hunting is. The root cause for doing it and the subconscious reason why …at it’s highest most positive level that made you take it up to begin with. The ability to describe it clearly with sincerity and emotion is what makes the struggle so valuable. You are on the right path ! Continue! Your last deer should not be so quickly forgotten! Lol. Who’s better at being you? Nobody!

Sorry to hear of your hunting misfortune. I had something similar happen to me like that. I spent like $300 to buy a tripod stand. My brother helped me set it all up and I was excited. I had a great spot already for the first day of the season. Sure enough I head to where the stand is and the road was closed off. It said that there were loggers in the area and you could not hut the area that whole season. Got to love it. That is a real good reason to scout way before the season and have multiple places to go that are not associated with each other just incase. Good Luck to ya this season.

I can feel your pain. Losing hunting land is my middle name. A buddy of mine swears by hunting clear cuts. Give it a try. I saw a big one but it didn't present a shot. Wasn't going to take a "Texas heart shot."

After pushing one to many deer to others over the years, if I know other hunters are in my hotspot I get the heck out of there.. When super windy, I try to keep the wind in my face and just still hunt.. I have walked up within shooting distance to many deer feeding in the woods over the years doing it..

Losing a spot to hunt can definitely take the wind right out of your sails, but it sounds like you are already working on a backup plan.

First time on your channel and a new subscriber here. Friendly advice: never get frustrated while deer hunting. Going home without seeing a deer is pretty normal. It took me four months to get my first deer, not to mention a 20 lb weight loss after intense scouting in the woods. I'm not sure about the regulations in Maine, but in my state where I bowhunt, I make sure to be in my spot an hour to an hour and a half before legal hunting time. That could be the reason you're not seeing deer-if they spot you first in the daylight. Of course, weather is another factor. Best of luck, and keep up the great work!

I've went out and sat in the stand at 8am several times and had luck. I guess mixing it up a bit pays off. Heavy wind stinks, but it covers your sound. Just gotta "sitiate" yourself facing into the wind. "Sitiate" is a southern term.

I love the view that other hunters get besides myself. I was sitting in the same patch of wood's that I sat in and I've seen 2 deer one was doe and the one I saw tonight I was sitting on a hill and heard something in front of me i couldn't see it because there was a tree in front of me. Then I heard gun shots off in the distance so I sat a couple of minutes later and sure enough it was deer I saw another one last Thursday on the way home from my day program on the interstate. So today makes 4 that I saw once again I wasn't smart enough to get my tipper can out so I know something is out behind the house. I set out to go squirrel hunting this morning then I went to grab my .22 and i thought i could put my hands on the key to unlock the lock and i have no idea where the key is.

Don’t stress about not seeing many deer. You don’t start seeing the big boys till the 3rd week. Maybe the very end of next week will be good. Keep putting in a honest effort and you will see results. Give ‘em hell girl u got this🦌

Well I don't feel so bad now. Here in northern Michigan. Seemed like every dirt road to go down the clear cutting on state land. They keep saying it's good for the environment. No, it's good for the state coffers money money. Hunting license fees keep going up here and the deer hurt seems to be shrinking. And we're losing property to hunt on left and right.

DNR Do Nothing Right. Like 10 doe permits for every hunter in the lower. Makes great money sense, that is it....

It’s pretty depressing when you hunt public land and you run into other hunters and hear all them shots like that. But, it’s going to happen soon enough, a monster is going to screw up and give you a shot 👍
