I bought a 2032r about a year ago. It is the same size as the 2038r. I use my half ton Avalanche to tow it and it does it with no problems. I have had the tractor, front loader, bush hog, and 5' disc all on my 20' trailer and pulled it with no problems. I had the disc in the front under the loader. They are great little big tractors.

I have a 2017 2032R and it's an amazing machine. Perfect for what I need it for. I thought seriously about going with the 2038R, but I don't need the added HP at the PTO, and the turbo is just one more thing that could go wrong with it. I've had a couple issues with the kick stand on the 220r loader, but Deere was easy to work with to get it fixed. That 72 inch deck is a monster and, if the grass isn't too tall, can mow cleanly as fast as the machine will go. The only downside is that if the lawn isn't perfectly flat, it is easy to scalp the high spots. I also use the tractor to pull a landscape rake and box blade, and the only rear PTO attachment I use at this time is a post hole digger. Otherwise I use the HD bucket on the loader to clear snow during our Vermont winters, though after 2 winters with that setup I do miss a snowblower. Truth be told I will probably try a snow push on the loader first before taking the plunge on the front PTO And snowblower attachment. I'm excited to see you demonstrate the backhoe, it was little much to get past MY finance committee, but it is an attachment I've already wished I had on several occasions, and one I intend to get when the FC is feeling more generous.

I know that you will love the 2038R, especially for mowing. I got mine in October of 2017 and have over 300 hours on it. I mow approximately 8-9 acres at home and 35+ acres at Church . Getting ready to trade in my 59" snow Blower for a 72" plow and a 48" grapple. Snow blower isn't my cup of tea on an open station tractor in the winter, especially when the wind blows snow back in your face. Fuel consumption is great at approximately .7 to .8 GPH . Have a mulching kit for the 72D MMM that I have learned to put on and take off in a little over 1 hour. Quite a lot of work but easy when you have a chain hoist to pick up the deck.

Tim, I traded up from a 1023 R to a 2038 R last summer and I really like it. It’s a little taller, a little longer and slightly wider. I have 40 acres in the Arkansas Ozarks and needed a bigger tractor but still wanted to be able to mow my yard with it. I brush hog the pasture and use the loader for about everything and the extra horsepower is nice. I didn’t like the tiny tires on the 1023 but other than that it was a good machine. Tell Kristy to fold the ROPS when she mows so she can get under the trees. Looking forward to your next videos!

The lawn clippings are free fertilizar for the yard. If the ground is soft add lime and fertilizar. It should kinda harden up

Christy, When mowing without a mulch kit, mow counter clockwise so you can "compost in place". You blow clippings onto what you just mowed. This will leave a layer of clippings all over the yard which will decompose. The other way will pile up the clippings on unmowed grass and that will make it harder to mow. ... Oh at 5:10 I see you switched directions.

Lots of luck with the new tractor. It looks great! I think once you mow with Vinnie though, you will never want to mow with another tractor. The striping capability of Ventrac / Steiner are second to none!!

The 72" rear discharge deck on the Ventrac is great for getting close to things... way closer than with a tractor because of the articulating nature. And you already know about how well it floats over soft ground. It also cuts at nearly 10mph... Saved me a ton of time mowing. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have that 2038 for heavier work, loader, excavator... pulling stumps etc. It's on my wish list!

So now I have a BIG farm tractor for hay work , a 455 for mowing and a 318 for tilling....... but see my problem?? No mid size chore tractor 😰.

I believe that if you install mulching blades and cover the chute, they sell that part too. By installing mulching blades on the mower deck, you will never see clipping anymore. I am sure you know about mulching blades. Well, have a very blessed Easter.

It takes awhile to get use to a new lawn to mow. You have to learn where bumps, dips and ruts are, plus how the lays down so it looks natural. Sometimes it's more of a sense or feeling than anything else. Glad you got a little bigger tractor to test!

I love mowing my 2 acre yard with my 2032R but I start with 1 round down the fence and ditch lines and then go to the center and blow to the outside. These mowers have so much power I just keep bowing it to the outside leaving the grass at the fence and ditch or pick it up with my lawn sweeper in 1 pass

I really like that 2038r! I thought you might be interested in hearing this story,Mr.Tim. I live in Louisiana but am currently visiting my in-laws in Bakersfield,CA. Yesterday my father in law and I went to the local John Deere store price shopping lawn mowers for his church. I got to talking to the sales guy about the 1025r and 3025E setting outside marked down about $6k. During the 1025R discussion, he referenced your channel, so I could see some videos of one in action. I thought that was pretty cool that he mentions your channel to customers.

We have the 2032r, with the 72” deck. I pull it on my 18’ trailer with my 2012 ram 1500. Pulls easy. It’s a much better tractor then the 2025. The 2025 is the same as 1025 with bigger tires.

Yep, the clippings are good and if you mow one direction then go the opposite direction the next pass you can cut the clippings again so they're smaller. Almost like a mulching blade does. Mulching isn't really all that new.

If I was you all I would get a scag 72inch zero turn for all of that. They mow awesome and strip amazing. It could mow circles around that tractor.

Tim, love the channel !! A trick I use for Deere mower is the regular mower blades on 2 spindles on the discharge side a (bagger) blade. This will say maybe help with the clippings. Deere runs a good blade speed just getting the clippings out. Something to try? I use the method and seems to help. Deere refers to high lift blades as the OEM blade but a real high lift blade is the bagger witch helps with discharge.

That’s a nice big tractor. I like the mower deck on that. My Kubota has a mid-mount PTO for the mower deck but my zero-turn mower does a great job at mowing and doesn’t put hours on my much more expensive tractor.

Tim you should maybe consider putting 1‘ x 1‘ concrete pavers around the wall of your flag pole circle , this will give you a mowing edge to run the edge of the mower without having to take the Weed eater around the edge of the wall . Just something to think about

Your coupon code is a couple days late. Just ordered my spring change kit a few days ago! You should plant some tress, not remove them! Just put some smaller plants around the base so you don't have to mow right up to them. We do mulch or rock with a low border (one we can run the mower over without worry) around trees that are hard to mow under, then we don't have to worry about it.

Hey Tim. I had the 1025r and now have the 2038r. Absolutely no regrets and no issues with the larger frame size on my 3 acre property here in Ontario Canada. I will make a pridiction. In one year you will return it for a cab 3046r or you let go of Johnny. I love my 2038r TLB but could not image why I would ever use a 1025r TLB while I have had it. I am betting you get a 3046r or one of those new 2 series Yanmar cab tractors.

With a tractor you can pull a lawn roller behind , doing two steps at once ! Zero turn will however hard on transmission .

Please can you try my moving some round bales or maybe even a bale grapple with it ? Also I would love to see some reviews on some vertical tillage rigs like a Perfecta or maybe those fancy rotary harrows . A lot of experts say roto tillers damage the living layer of topsoil and I can see that at my place after I use the roto tiller a lot. Thanks Tim for all you do !
