I don't know if its just me and my sister. But we believe that Deet and Rian are the parents of Jen. When she flashed foward to what was going to happen, she saw Rian putting the shard into the crystal. She might not be able to see her own children cause she doesn't know if she can have any yet. So instead she sees Rian putting the crystal in. Oh and we also believe that Brea is the mother of Kira.

The shard wasn't fake. Remember that the 3 Suns weren't aligned. It wasn't the right time to heal it. I think it will have something to do with saving Deet at least because I definitely see Rian and Deet being Jen's parents. In Deets vision we see what looks to be Brea running with Kira in her arms and in the movie when Jen and Kira are dream fasting we hear her say " before my mothers death she hid me in a tree while running away from the monsters"

@Kevin Michaud that's would make a tragic ending, but it would make a very big hole in the plot about who's the parents to both Jen and Kira and remember in the film they said they killed all Gelfling to stop the prophecy. They never drained any Gelfling.

@@beatricesanfilippo6925 Yes, I have.I´s quite OK. It´s great fortune they still used real puppets and not only CGI. There are some fine scenes in the Netflix series. But too they made a row of mistakes: some events ( or when they should happen) are not due to what the original movie tells us.

Well in all honesty, rian was feeling lonely at that point and Deet just so happened to be his biggest support when he needed it. So I'm guessing in a way it was out of the need of comfort. Not to mention she's kind, a ray of sunshine and full of hope, enough to make your negative feelings go away. Regardless though, the relationship between deet and rian is beautiful 🤗. Even if they don't survive I guess...since it is a prequel to the movie lol.
