He's made songs for several films, but this one is by far the BEST! I know it's like a coincidence that his stage name is Owl City yet he made a soundtrack to a song for a movie about owls. Maybe this is what he's destined for all along. Maybe he didn't realize it yet, heh.

what hurt the movie was combining 3 books into 1 movie. there was a lot of stuff that got skipped and they changed a few things to make it work. Honestly I love this movie but the books are way more interesting and a lot more darker then you think a novel meant for around middle school aged kids. If you saw this movie I highly recommend giving these books a read even if your an adult.

"To The Sky" Shipwreck in a sea of faces There's a dreamy world up there Dear friends in higher places Carry me away from here Travel light, let the sun eclipse you 'Cause your flight is about to leave And there's more to this brave adventure Than you'd ever believe Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (you take to the sky) On the hills of war and wonder There's a stormy world up there You can't whisper above the thunder But you can fly anywhere Purple burst of paper birds This picture paints a thousand words So take a breath of myth and mystery And don't look back Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (you take to the sky) There's a realm above the trees Where the lost are finally found So touch your feathers to the breeze And leave the ground Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (you take to the sky) [2x]

Sadly, they will probably never make another Guardians of Ga'hoole movie. They said they didn't get too much money, but this movie had good music and the motion and graphics -Back then- were all good! Sure, it wasn't like the books, but it was still good. Anyone else agree on them making another Guardians of Ga'hoole?
@machfassett5749
@machfassett5749 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, but I still think they didn't do a very good job in explaining the books, because they didn't add a lot of the stuff, such as the fact that Egglantine was an adult when she was taken to the Ga'hoole Tree, and Lyze was trapped in the triangle of flecks (I forgot what it was called) alone, and not during a war. Also, Soren didn't know that Ezylryb was actually Lyze until sometime in one of either the second or third books. I think that if they make another Guardians of Ga'hoole, they should make sure they stick closer to the books.

Oh wow I haven't listened to this song in a year and just ... Wow ... I cannot explain the feeling it gives me! It may sound cheesy to some people but it lifts my heart and I can't keep a smile from my face. I was in love with this song when I was 10 and I'm in love with it now, 5 years later. Edit: it’s been eight years since I made this comment and I still love this song 13 years later as a 23 year old :)

I love owl city, why? because their songs can paint such beautiful scenery in my imagination, its a nice getaway from all the long list of songs like rap songs, angst songs, sad songs, songs that tells story you understand but can't honestly relate with since it hasn't happened to you. Sometimes I just want to listen to a song that can make my mind travel free while I'm sitting down and Owl City does it for me

Lyrics: Shipwreck in a sea of faces There's a dreamy world up there Dear friends in higher places Carry me away from here Travel light, let the sun eclipse you 'Cause your flight is about to leave And there's more to this brave adventure Than you'd ever believe Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (you take to the sky) On the heels of war and wonder There's a stormy world up there You can't whisper above the thunder But you can fly anywhere Purple burst of paper birds This picture paints a thousand words So take a breath of myth and mystery And don't look back Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (you take to the sky) There's a realm above the trees Where the lost are finally found Touch your feathers to the breeze And leave the ground Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (You take to the sky) (You take to the sky)

Completely agree! Also the books! Also Owl City! Also, am I the only one who enjoys both the books and film in their own merit? Like How Train Train Your Dragon, I love both in a different way, the books as an incredible series, the film as a breathtaking masterpiece. It doesn't bother me that the movie didn't follow the book exactly, because of COURSE if you're shortening several books into a couple of hours you'll have to change a lot of things. This film is still one of the most visually breathtaking ever made, especially the lighting, the closeups (textures are phenominal!), and the dramatic colors. Every character, every scene in the film is portrayed amazingly, and I only wish the movie was more popular and fiscally successful.

Let's be honest after almost 9 years this song is still a masterpiece for everyone, it literally made me tackle the worst mood change a moment ago even tho I basically listen to heavy dubstep songs from nowadays but my God this song saved me,

I know what you mean. all of his songs remind me of calmer times and they're just so... magical. I'm yet to find one of his songs that could listen to over and over for hours. this song really does make you wanna fly, and that's something coming from me since I'm terrified of up one flight of stairs in fear that it might collapse on me. Owl City Lyrics Play the Owl City Quiz "To The Sky" Shipwreck in a sea of faces There's a dreamy world up there Dear friends in higher places Carry me away from here Travel light, let the sun eclipse you 'Cause your flight is about to leave And there's more to this brave adventure Than you'd ever believe Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (you take to the sky) On the hills of war and wonder There's a stormy world up there You can't whisper above the thunder But you can fly anywhere Purple burst of paper birds This picture paints a thousand words So take a breath of myth and mystery And don't look back Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (you take to the sky) There's a realm above the trees Where the lost are finally found So touch your feathers to the breeze And leave the ground Birds-eye view, awake the stars 'cause they're all around you Wide eyes will always brighten the blue Chase your dreams, and remember me, sweet bravery 'Cause after all those wings will take you, up so high So bid the forest floor goodbye as you race the wind And take to the sky (you take to the sky) [2x]

Almost 10 years after Legend of the guardians: The owls of Ga'hoole was released, I still remember it and I still insist it was one of the most beautiful animated movies ever. Yeah, it has many differences with the book, but nobody can deny that the animation is amazing, plus the soundtrack was great. I'm still waiting for the sequel

The Guardians of Ga'hoole is still my favorite book series, there were my childhood. And Owl City was my favorite band when I was a tween, so when I found out he was singing a song for the movie I couldn't contain my excitement. Recently I started listening to all my old Owl City music and I'm obsessed again! And every time I hear this song I think OMG THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED OWL CITY MADE A SONG FOR GUARDIANS OF GAHOOLE LIKE MY LIFE IS NOW COMPLETE. And the little owl and the end of this video is just so adorable
