very good use of modern technology to its fullest potential. I respect that. Unlike many people who use technology as a crutch for convenience.

dope man!! its like a flashback from back in the days!! classic song!!....and perfect cuttn and flippn!! i have an ns7 and just purchased a vci-300 and was a little disappointed when testing it out, but after watching this you motivated me to practice on it!!

Outstanding work again Deez. All respect to the VCI, but it does prove that it's all about skills and you have them big time. I hope people can watch this and finally understand that rocking a crowd doesn't need full size turntables with vinyl. Good work Deez as ever!
@aaroninky16 жыл бұрын
insane video, ive spent the last 3 days straight on youtube trying to decide whether to get the vci-300 or the vci-100 (for mainly mix dj'ing)... and this definitely one of the best videos ive seen, even for a non-turntablist!
@mixxedjustright10 жыл бұрын
My man you're incredible... Much respect...
@djfrizel116 жыл бұрын
Great mix man you definitely rocked it. While I'm a big fan of traditional setups i can now see myself using the vci300 for mobile gigs as i wouldn't have to carry my heavy equipment(turntables,mixer,cases) and i would be able to cut down on setup time... props!!!!

Thanks! You can reverse the fader. It has a longer cut-in than the Rane mixer, but I think it's the same as other Vestax mixers. Nice resistance on the faders too. The upfaders are the long ones and they also have a cut/curve adjust.
@GeneralTarik15 жыл бұрын
Nice work son. You're the first person I have seen really tearing it up on this thing. I'm contemplating getting this or the NS7. Seeing this video has me leaning to the VCI 300. Vestax should put you on the payroll. One Love!

That was incredibly dope. I'm good friends with the Beat Junkies and an overall fan of trick mixing. You rocked that set! I'm sure it's 100x tougher to do it on the VCI! Nice work!

Your juggles are amazing. Very clean and precise. If possible I was wondering if you can do a quick tutorial on how to do a certain breakdown. on 5:34 to 5:44. J-Rocc breaksdown the the beat but i'm confused on where he's catching it and letting it go. Like he's pausing it every 1/2 count. Can you please explain how this is done? Thanks.

It's a sturdy piece of equipment. The headphone volume and master output is kinda low, but it does the job nicely for a small package. Check the forum for more feedback from peeps.

I could listen to you rip it up all day I'm gunna hire you to bump beats while I just lay back and take long hauls off a J and just vibe with the tracks
@DeezNotes12 жыл бұрын
I used the headphones and the waveforms on the screen for some parts. Once you get your mark, you can go by ear and touch. None of these controllers have accurate markers, so its hard to sound clean like vinyl.
@DeezNotes14 жыл бұрын
@ques75 It's a Macbook. It handles latency pretty good, but I usually set the buffer up a notch or two when im gigging just to be safe.
@IntelInside202014 жыл бұрын
damn strobin on vci 300-that must be hella hard because #1 you have to use the cue point on a computer screen rather than using you cue tape on a record #2 the platter is 3 inches in diameter and isn't motorized! Good work man! Once again, I hope rane is sponsoring you!!

He did something similar with Rhyme Mania at some conference or something, but I hit the record button in the middle of a set which just so happened to be while I was playing Rhyme Mania. Maybe if I started the video a little later it wouldn't appear to be a "bite" but I guess 2 different DJs can't play the same songs in a similar style? This is just basic trick mixing, which is something I learned before i heard of the term.

Is it possible to quickly skip to a part of a track using a controller on the device, in a similar way that a FF button or needle drop feature works, for cueing a point on the fly towards the end/middle of a tune?

Dope! Been glued to this vid for ages and finally bought one... Having a few problems with it, so gonna get it replaced as love the potential of it. How long did it take you to get juggle confident on this, as it feels totally diff to turns, and I'm finding simple juggles a bit hard!
@shervio14 жыл бұрын
very nice transitioning bro.. keep up the the good work. -also if u can message me the music u were using?.. sounds like Tribe but it prob isn't.. thanks man cheers.
@DeezNotes16 жыл бұрын
It is what it is. It isn't a replacement for turntables, but you can def scratch, mix and blend from one song to the next. Its mad compact and comes in handy for gigs with no space or low budgets. Latency depends on your computer. You def can't use a punk ass computer.. peep the Serato site for the specs u need.

question... i can use the audio from my computers sound card correct... or no? i have my computer set up to a home theatre receiver.. and i'd like to keep it that way
@m0redave12 жыл бұрын
It's a loop he made. If you listen @5:52, you'll hear the loop play on one side for a few seconds. When I first heard that, I went crazy cause it sounds so dope and I never heard anyone do that with that song. But it's because it's a custom loop. If anyone else is wondering what we're talking about, it's 5:34 on this video: watch?v=Nf76GXp3OFA

Can you use the VCI as a sound card? Like could I use Serato with my regular setup or do I have to spend the 900 on this and still keep my Serato box? I tend to use TS out alot, but I would love to travel light with the VCI 300, but still have the ability to hook up to regular TTs.
