You know, as far as ageing vocals go, Joe's are very respectable. Can you imagine David Coverdale or Jon Bon Jovi being able to do re-recordings of their classic material without sounding like a banshee or completely destroying their vocal chords? Or both? I love it. Mutt Lange himself was floored by the quality of the re-recordings. Def Leppard did this out of necessity, as the original recordings were in limbo due to a piss poor contract. I'd rather they re-release the whole catalogue and get their music on iTunes than have only classic albums with no means of evolving into the digital age.

@@gruntabro1 No UMG owns the DL catalog, several DL songs used in official licensed video games like Rockband etc were demos "ML singing on pour some sugar" or live concert versions "Animal" I really think some of the original tapes are either missing or were destroyed possibly in the 2008 UMG lot fire. I seem to recall DL was listed originally among artists who lost their masters that were stored there. I would think they had safety copies somewhere though depending on when they were transferred to digital.

I would love a remaster of the original recordings where they actually tried to make every instrument and vocal as deep and strong and soft and amazing as they can... If they had to re-record a few instruments for better sounds quality that'd be fine as long as it was exactly like the original. The songs would breathe new life with a legitimate remastering.

At first, I thought..."ohhh, that's a bad miss..." And I adore DL!! But, then, I took it for what it is--a slightly different version. It's almost like listening to a live rendition. The "Can't Stop DIS feeling...Can't stop DIS fight" stood out like crazy. After hearing it a few times, however, I don't hear it anymore. I cannot believe the shit these poor guys have gone thru. Mr Boon you're absolutely right. "Something" is missing. This is technically excellent, but it's cold and robotic. I still get goosebumps from the original even today, this just doesn't work.
