1983, 22 years old, Bartending at a killer local bar, living with five good friends in a party house with indoor pool, driving a new 1983 Boss 302 Mustang, Def Leopard always blasting, Wow, The best times ever. I’ve tried to tell my kids what they missed. From Atlanta, Georgia. I think I was blessed to experience the best times this world has seen.

The story according to MTV at the time, was that the drummer began figuring out ways to drum one-handed while he was still in the hospital bed recuperating from the accident that cost him his arm. He would tap out rhythms with his remaining hand and his two feet while in bed. That's dedication.

When I hear this song, I’m overwhelmed with the feeling that we don’t realize we’re living the best days of our lives until they’ve long since passed. I was 17 and a junior in high school when this was a huge hit. I was in such a damn hurry to grow up and leave all the teenage “bullshit” behind. Now that I’m all grown up, 52 now, I’d give anything to live these days once again.

Graduated from a small, rural High School in South-Western Ohio in "86" I literally wore out my "Pyromania" cassette tape in my "57 Chevy" that I drove during those high school years cruising on Broadway in Greenville, Oh. Wow, had we only known how Damn good those days actually were when we were there living them!!! The 80's...Best decade ever known to man! They pulled off the working class hard rock songs as good as any or better than most while also being great at the prettier sounding melody type rock songs....Up tempo or slower, makes no difference...LIsten to the whole High n Dry album and it's so hard rocking, but they threw in "Bringin on the Heartbreak" which was different but still a great rock song and it certainly was the first example by them that showed what they could do in addition to songs like High n Dry, Let it Go, Mirror - Mirror, ect. I was 16 when this song was huge. When I hear it now, I think about how that 16 year old was in such a desperate rush to grow up. Now at age 50, I truly understand that youth is wasted on the young. I’d give literally anything to be able to relive these days. I wish I had the understanding that I was living some of the best days of my life and could have enjoyed things a bit more.

Whenever a heavy rock band plays something slower and softer than usual, it's always so beautiful. They have so much more capability than what's required, they execute with perfection and also have the ability to add in some nice touches to fill out the sound. It's why rock power ballads are sooooooo good. Sweet child of mine, Every rose has it's thorn, Home sweet home (Motley Crue) are just a few that come to mind.

This song was there when I had my first kiss. Then my first time falling in love, My first nostalgic moment and even my first breakdown. I'm 47. I must have been 11 years old when this came out and I bought the album. Back then, I had a group of friends (boys and girls) who would meet at our local skating rink. Jean jackets, hair spray and dad's cologne in hopes to be with our crushes... and it worked. Hysteria along with Never Say Goodbye (by Bon Jovi) were heart felt songs to hug your girlfriend/wife outside in the cool of late fall. Then taking her in the house, change and cuddle and kiss by candle light. Our best rockers were romantics. I'm a rocker and romantic too. May God bless Def Leppard.

Fell in love with this band in the 80's.....and now 2023 is near an end and I'm still listening to them. Now my 23 year old son is hooked on them...and I couldn't be happier. I used to watch them on MTV and DROOL over Rick Savage...LOL!! If you don't like Def Leppard....then your taste in music is VERY limited....and you are missing out on some high quality music. LONG LIVE DEF LEPPARD!!!

Has gotta gotta be one of the nicest sounding songs there is. It’s a mixture of rock song and a slow jam. Meshes perfectly together. This song is what life memories sound like.
