DEF pump replacement (P20E8) | 2011+ FORD SUPER DUTY

A quick how-to DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) pump replacement for the FORD F-series trucks. I tried to keep it brisk. The p20E8 code has been plaguing my truck for some time. I was able to delete the code and it would work for a while but eventually that was no longer working. I decided to pull the bed for this replacement because I had to do some bed repairs caused by the lumber rack anyhow. I have dropped the DEF tank in the past to replac the heater. It was easier from the top, but without the forklift it would have been tricky. It is possible from the under the truck but it requires the truck to be lifted up pretty high. Good that you can do that--but I'm glad my latest truck is gas. I don't put a lot of miles on, though.

That's the exact same pump that came out of my 2011 Sprinter Van. I guess Bosh makes everything for diesels

I just did mine. This video saved me from spending a thousand. For others who are about to do this. If you have a fifth wheel plug in on the side of the bed you might have unplug it or just have the bed dangling over the frame like I did. It actually was a simple job. Thanks again!

Amen to that. Unfortunately I am in CA and just had a smog check, the tech visually looks the system to be sure its intact. I keep hearing about all the lawsuits that surrounding states and private entities have against CA because the DEF is killing the roadside vegetation.

@@unitedstatesofbuild4915 kills engines. Prior to delete I got 6.1mpg after 7.3. Engine temps were 205 prior. Now 175. Prior, every 3 month I was in shop, now it's been 2 years since cel has come on. Will be interesting to see if sed causes more greenhouse than it was designed to stop. Cat piss....
