The buget ones has Poly hair but "the extra" have nylon (like Rainbow high). Her facemold is a knock off of Mizi dolls and her body IS based on a Barbie fashionista 2010 (without torso auriculation)

I know Defa Lucy for Ages. They have various Dolls in different Qualitys. They have really cheap Dolls like Dollar Store Level. Various Headmolds and Bodytypes. I do not mean like Curvy... more some like with Belly Button Body others with Twist and Turn Body and skinny Legs. Articulated like Liv Dolls back than. Some Dolls have sculpts from Mattel or Disney. Some are from others or maybe original. But they also have quite good Dolls. Only the Hair quality is always crappy. Its the cheap Fiber, but they have all ok Hairstyles and a good amount of Hair on their Heads. Those "Extra" are really cute.

In Sweden these DefaLucy has been sold for like 13 years or something but they still only have the old terrible version. These new Barbie Extra inspired are still not sold here. They are very bootleg and they shift what they copy

@Farcamp1 China are using forced labour. I think that's worse. These dolls will have minimal impact on Mattel. The average parent will buy their kids a cheap standard Barbie from Amazon or a toy shop. Mattel will probably take legal action if they feel these dolls are a major threat.

Joey from @BeautyInsideABox did an extensive review on these dolls that compared them to Barbie and where they came from 😊 From what I understand, they are Brittany in the Latin American version and have been there for quite a while as a budget doll 🙂 They have a lot of dolls to choose from online, including a few really nice ones that are compared to Looks dolls in denim and some basic dolls under $10 with even less articulation but much better clothing than Barbie Fashionistas 😉 Definitely worth checking out ✨💖✨

Considering that these dolls are only sold on Shein and Temu, I am very suspicious of them, and won't be buying any of them. I also feel like Barbie has much better diversity, facemolds, and quality compared to whatever Defa Lucy has to offer. But that doesn't mean that other people can't enjoy the Defa Lucy dolls, though.🖤💜

ohhh I'm in love with the last one. I've got one with the similar face, but a blond - and now kinda need one with those fire-colored hair. about those molds, people say, it's JHG Mizi dolls' molds, but they look different, I mean, faces' shapes and all. One of those I got, looks like Mattel's Tori, but a bit chubbier. I'm not sure if it's an actual bootleg, cause there still are differences... (I've fixed that bent leg with hot water, it seems common for those dolls - maybe, due to material) Really enjoyed your video, thank you!

Let me mansplain the situation: So here in Mexico almost every supermarket has their own Barbie knock off with a mild quality (so above dollar store bald ones) and Walmart Mexico licensed Deffa (which as far as I knew is a Chinese company but not sure) to produce theirs and here in Mexico they are called Brittany but Deffa is also selling some of the dolls (because so far i haven't seen a lot of the ones available here selling online) rebranded as Deffa Lucy and even the package is the same but with a different printing so basically it started as a knock off but now it's kinda doing their own thing like some designs and the headmolds but also they have some things and designs unavailable for everyone still being a shameless copy of Barbie . BTW the polypropylene used by Mattel is really stiff but it will bear the rough play with a kid, the one used by Deffa Lucy (except the extra ones) will get damaged really easily and there's no way back.

As a child in Guatemala , we had these horrible knock offs, they were super cheap and super thin plastic, completely hollow. I have never seen anything as bad even at the dollar store. They looked so bad. The ones now are so much better and these are fantastic in comparison, I’d have loved those as a child.

A really cute & fun video!❣️ I have one of these dolls so far. I think the one I have is called denim girl. She has short black hair. I hope they will inspire buyer Mattel to up their game. Mattel seems to go from one product line to another. I wish Mattel could concentrate on several lines at once without neglecting the others.

These dolls are popping up all over social media. While I understand their appeal on the surface, seeing as how these dolls are really cheap and sold on sites like Temu and Shein, I wonder about the human and environmental cost of these dolls. I won't come close to buying them or encouraging anyone to buy them until I know the catch behind the price.
