So if you're calling the game for a 10, 11, or 12 year old player what would your location percentages look like? I have my 11u players only throwing 2 pitches. 2 seam or 4 seam fast balls and change ups. Naturally, now they want to throw change ups more than fast balls. Teach an 11 yr old a pitch and they want to wear it out. I've gotten that under control ( hopefully ) but we are just now beginning to work more and more on the location of their pitches. So, for instance, would you say you'd generally tell your pitchers that 60% of their pitches should go low and away, 30% high in the middle, and 10% up an in? Or what? And I realize that there is no set rule and many variables can affect things but I'm just asking in a general sense. Thanks in advance for your time.

+Baby Madefour When they're behind, middle of the plate. Even - inner half or outer half. Ahead, inner third or outer third. If they need a strikeout, away or up. My book has more guidelines that may be helpful, but that's pretty much all I would do if was calling - watch the game and the catcher is going to use those locations I just mentioned for almost everything. 75% fastballs 25% changeups.
