I'd say that I understand like 20% of the video. I sort of have an intuitive idea of most of the things he's saying, but at the same time I don't really understand any specifics... it is fascinating though. I didn't even know what a WAF was or that they even existed prior to this. It's nice to feel humbled and ignorant but at the same time with an opportunity to learn. Also as far as I can tell, a couple of these companies had some pretty 'interesting' policies. And the presenter is amazing, I love how he's so educated but still has a lively and sociable manner.

We were all their at some point so few pointers:Avoid any kind of "hacking for dummies" book they are just bad. Pick up some general knowledge books(A+, CCNA or Net+ etc), subscribe/pick up 2600 every quarter(and read back issues, methodology IS important)(avoid ANY other hacking magazine including hacker they are garbage). But basically their is no fast road, read and read and read. Also install Linux and learn to use it.

Frankly for the true nerd/hacker you will never know a damn thing, i still dont and ive been reading up on/fixing/breaking(mostly on purpose) pc's since i was 13.
