Katie Kookaburra I got into road riding riding in Houston, which is flat as a pancake, but having recently moved back to the UK, I am now faced with hills all around me. I struggle up a lot of them, particularly on a longer ride (which for me are all generally sub 100 k), but there are still times when I have to stop for a breather or even walk. I hate it when I have to do that, but watching your videos has helped motivate me to try again. You also have got me into gravel riding. Thanks for that - I love the trails. It makes a pleasant change from the road.

So, Katie, when you say your legs are hurting, is it typically your quads, your hamstrings or maybe your calves? I recently read if your form & seat height & bar height is dialed in perfectly, your legs should hurt equally between the above three areas rather than just your quads for example. Great ride. Cheers from 🇨🇦

@marklucas81104 жыл бұрын
Katie, please don't make out you're not a good cyclist. Efforts you put in are tremendous, even on an off day. Tenth place overall is brilliant. Imagine what you could do on fresh legs. It's also a bit psychological as well. You planned a particular ascent and had to readjust, which has a small impact on your performance. Considering you've never been up Buttertubs, you did amazingly well. Please don't apologize for being tired or god forbid your legs are a bit white! Do what you do and we'll keep watching and following. You don't have to go back to prove anything either. You did it in some style and you should be proud of that. Take care and see you next video.

Don't know if it's me but compared to other hill climbs recently your left leg seems less stable than normal with more knee rotation under load 2:41 Understandably fatigue is present from the long distances of late. Top effort though as the timing showed 👍

I lived near there for years in the 80s and 90s. I was convinced I was a really bad cyclist because I'd suffer like a dog going over' pass and up climbs like Malham Cove & Park Rash on a 42 ring. It was nice to see the TdF in the Dales and realise that it really was tough terrain.
