The Reds engines are very well made and the one you have there seems to be a fine example to me. The engine kicks ass🎉🎉🎉

I think it’s just a scratch bro , but definitely a back bearing issue change an check great work bro as always keep it up 🤜💯💥🇦🇺

I think you are right Tony, needs a nex rear bearing. nd probably a front also as my buddy is now having tuning issues again..
@jamarcus_OG8 ай бұрын
If that's a ceramic rear bearing, you SHOULD NOT RUN it at all : very small fragments of ceramic can detach from the spheres and scratch the piston or cylinder ! Always use steel bearings after break-in , they last around 10-20% less liters compared to ceramic, but they do not damage the engine. Also they're much cheaper. If i'm correct, the Scuderia uses ceramic rear bearing. Also that one on the carter is probably a deep scratch, hopefully.

You are right, I was more concerned about the 'crack' and the tuning issues than the rear bearing, needs to be replaced! Sadly, I cant find steel rear bearings here, do you have a link?
@a2rc8 ай бұрын
You would be able to tell better in person but, on the video, it doesn't look like a crack (especially since you didn't see the "crack" on top, near the location pin). As you mentioned, the tune sounded good at the end. Unfortunately, all this conversation about Reds, is making me double think about their engines but, this one seems to be ok. Thanks for the vid Tasty 💜

Im still not 100% sure if its a crack or not but tuning this engine was easy and I deliberately heated it up to check the stability and did not encounter any tuning issues. Think the main issue now is the bearings. This makes even more curious about reds so....... new review video coming up soon! Thanks for watching my friend

amazing what a fue small adjustments on the car can make

Exactly! With these carbs you need very small adjustments and sometimes a bit of patience

Sounds Great! Those engines are not designed (shimmed) for 12% Nitro. They're supposed to run 16% - 25%
@TastyBRC7 ай бұрын
Thank you 👍 Agreed! They will always run better with higher nitro, I will have to move to the US 😁

I don't think that's a crack. Probably discolored by drilling the hole for the pin. I see that on more of my engines at that place. I'm definitely gonna change the rear bearing first now before doing more testing. I can hear that rear bearing too. Not really really bad, but since he is having the same issues i would just change it. It doesn't sound really good either. The engine seems more consistent, but that's what i thought too after tuning it on 16% and before running laps. Just something about these engines .

Was just watching this on a big screen. On your thumbnail it does look like a crack. In the vid you can see a little bit. It's hard to see. Did you tried whipe some black greace or oil over it? It may become more clear.
@TastyBRC8 ай бұрын
I tried to polish it a bit, and still there, cant be 100% sure but looks like a crack to me. Like A2 said, there is no crack on the top near the sleeve pin so I wouldnt worry to much about this, most important now is chaging the bearings. As you said best option would be to sell the engine and get an easier one.. there are so many good options out there. Think im going to be breaking a Sv next week, Im even more curious about these engines , this is going to be challenging
@chriszautner47788 ай бұрын
I would run it. It tunes nice and runs good. I don't think they'll do anything about the block.

from your footage, it looks like a scratch. i find it hard to believe if it is actually a crack, why doesn't it run poorly? also, im getting bad shivers from that rear bearing sound hahaha needs replacing ASAP!
@TastyBRC8 ай бұрын
Most of you agree that it is not a crack and that the bearing is defective! It's still a shame for an engine that has run so little
@allaspectsrc41787 ай бұрын
I'd run it not sure how much

It will have a good life with a pair of new bearings.

@kings-racing8 ай бұрын
No..... 5.45, listen to that rear bearing. I just changed mine and it was not good. I suspect a bad batch of bearings. Gonna run mine this weekend. Fingers crossed. The bad news is , i got more of those bearings hanging here in stock.

@Kings Think we both mistaken that bearing when i sent you the footage on whtsap, from the r5r experience, the rear bearing is not going to cause tuning issues so I think he needs to replace the front bearing aswell. And luckily even if that rear bearing is defective it did not damage the piston and sleeve. So he still can save this engine. Now lets wait till the 10L and see..
@kings-racing7 ай бұрын
@@TastyBRCyes, definitely. It's not a tuning issue. It is the rear bearing that's causing that !!!
