Kestral is better . We can deploy twice the number of Kestral than Stryker at same cost & most of that money wil go to Indian companies. We just dont want good weapons but in good numbers too since we have such a vast Western & Northern borders where Enemy is ready to take advantage of any weakness. But we will as always import Foreign weapon.

Look we can compare them after buying and improve Kestrel , by integrating acquired knowledge from striker, and make striker a benchmark for Kestrel to beat . By opinion on airforce is to procure 4 squadrons of f-35 , and keep working on Amca , f-35 can provide the necessary deterrent to China and Pakistan and also act as a benchmark for Amca , we can improve mark 2 Amca by benchmarking it with best western plane available ( f- 22 is not available for purchasing, f-35 has to do with). We can adapt fifth gen aircraft before going indigenous route, South Korea thus has an advantage when developing 5th gen aircraft as they already operate the best 5th gen aircraft available, thus could do comparison, and improve on the design to make it actually comparable to f 35 by its block 2 variant

Stryker comes with better firepower. However it is twice the cost of Kestrel. Tata is a new entrant in the market for production of APCs. I think both should be put to use by the Indian forces and evaluated for engine performance, reliability etc. But an indigenous APC with indegenously developed guns is preferable. In times of war the USA cannot be relied upon to supply the spares or ammunition without interruption. Even Pakistan is likely to have the same Stryker APC.

There seems to be no justification in going for the Stryker when there are Indian alternatives available. Admittedly the Stryker is more advanced & versatile because it has been around for quite some time and is battle tested. We should be patient with the Tata WhAP and keep improving it with time. At least we will not be held at ransom by the US as has been the case with the GE engines.
